Podcasting
Here is the latest version of the Trailblazers.com Podcast starring Gavin Dawson of 95.5 The Game, Casey Holdahl of the Center Court Blog, and me...I am my kid's mom. Today we discussed B-Roy's recovery, the desirability of him ever playing on Team USA, Steve Blake's chops, Petteri Koponen, former Ducks sinking like a stone in the league, and a bunch of other stuff.
You can find the direct feed here or click here to head over to Casey's site and hear it streaming before your ears.

That part about Blake doing mixed martial arts...
during the off season, comparing it to Joel’s off season of boxing when he came in the next season and was terrible. Thats the first thing I thought when I heard Channing mention he was boxing. I was just thinking…oh no…didnt he learn from Joel!?
2nd! Dave, you are your kid's mom? And a story for them.
I don’t get it, I thought you we’re a dude, a dude who had a lot of Blazer knowledge, are you also so skilled in changing diapers and warming bottles? Reading bed night stories and tucking them in? Speaking of which, could you please write me a little something for me that I could read before I depart into slumber land tonight. Perhaps a story of a kingdom in search of a king. And then, they draft him number one in the King Draft. And he comes to their land, and all looks well. But then, something terrible happens! The king is no where to be found for years! (ok one year) And then, like the second coming of the Messiah, he reappears in a cloud of fog. The kingdom rejoices, and peace is brought back to our land, in the form of a thunderous dunk and a salt topped bent rim/pretzel.

I was wondering what I was going to do for a post tonight. But oh dear…this is likely to take hours. But thank you for the inspiration!

BRANDON ROY GET WELL SOON (SERIOUSLY DOG)
Twenty minutes of Dave, Casey, and Gavin talking Blazers
and not a word (that I recall) about Greg Oden? Must be nice for you guys to talk about something other than Greg’s rehab… even if it is Roy’s rehab.
Asked his specialty in the kitchen, Oden paused and said, "Hamburger Helper and tuna fish."
Dave you are the man, Ben you can be Robin to Dave's Bat(um)man
boys I am so proud of you for all the fine work you do here, when I get some free time this weekend I am listening to those podcasts and exploring more of this awesome site, and looking forward to Dave’s story of a friendly giant (BFG literally?) who loves to eat salt covered rim-pretzel’s! ;)

Dave:
Could you please pass on a message for me. I download the “Portland Trail Blazers Official Podcast” from iTunes. For some reason every edition of their podcast has the time length screwed up.
I’m not sure how long this latest episode actually was, but it shows up as 1:54:41 long. When played, the time bar seems to be moving at the right pace, and the audio is playing normally. So I skip to the end to see if there will be an hour of slience there. Nope, there’s still action going on. What is happening?
I believe when the podcast is edited (by the Blazers) and then uploaded to iTunes, the length of the clip is stretched to maybe double, but the player doesn’t know to move the time bar twice as fast. If the clip was played in its entirety without pausing, it would just end an hour earlier than you’d expect by looking at progress on the time bar. However, lets say you listen to 1/2 the clip, then paus it. The clip is stretched to be double the actual audio, so the time bar has actually only moved 1/4 of the way to the end. Then you resume by just pressing play. It will start up again 1/4 of the way through the episode, and you’ll listen to part of it twice.
This is a big deal for me because I listen to the podcast at work. I’m constantly getting interrupted and having to pause/resume. Could you pass the word along to someone at the Blazers so they know they look like noobs I assumed that they would realize it and fix it, but its been like that for several months. I subscribe to roughly 10 podcasts, and its the only one I’ve seen with this problem.
Has anyone else noticed this and can describe it better?
