BEDGER DEBATES
Hey bedgers
I was thinking since theres not much to post about in the summer we should start player debating,in which everyday there would be a post about a player from the blazers and another player(not a blazer ),and u bedgers would debate on who u would rather have on our team .Well not exactly who youd like on your team but who is and will be the better player.Becuz then ever1 would be bias .OK its still gonna be kinda bias .
Today the two debates r between
Lamarcus Aldridge - Carlose Boozer
Brandon Roy - Micheal Redd
debate on bedgers

ummm
brandon roy and lamarcus aldridge would be on my team because , they already ARE on my team? I dont understand. Maybe the two players should be
Manu Ginobli-Rudy Fernandez
Travis Outlaw-Rudy Gay
That is like asking Greg Oden or Shaq…?

ummm.. isn’t that akin to saying asking.. “gas would be the fuel for my car because gas IS the fuel for my car?”
ummm.. isn’t that akin to saying asking.. “gas would be the fuel for my car because gas IS the fuel for my car?”This seems like awfully shaky logic.

hmm..
I’m not sure why it did it three times; that’s not how I wrote it – I’ve never seen that before.
Anyway, the last line is the only one I meant to post.

But it made a point.... 3 times
I get your logic, but I thinks she’s referring to her affinity for the players. Assuming, she’s thinking of swapping the gas in her car for another amount of gas, she’s just saying, I like the gas in my car, so I’ll stick with that. The logic’s there even though it may not be the type of logic that gets you the best possible team talent wise. It will, however, make her happy, which is a pretty good result.

The LMA/Boozer one is at least a little tempting
But I’d still take LMA.
The Roy/Redd one is ludicrous. Maybe try Roy/D.Wade. That might spark some actual debate.
I kind of think Blazerfan1’s debate suggestions are a little ludicrous as well, but in the opposite direction. I’d take Rudy Gay over Outlaw in a heartbeat, and I like Travis. I’d also take Manu over Rudy—bald spot and all.

My bad.
I’m sorry. I do like to rain on the homer parade, and I seem to have prevented myself from doing so. Then I made my own homer comment (Wade/Roy). It’s been a tough day. Almost quittin’ time though (EST is the best).

Roy / Redd is reasonable.
However for me it’s a no brainer choosing Roy. Perhaps a Milwaukie fan might think differently.
I agree Roy / Wade is a better (or at least more challenging) comparison. It’s a tough one for me. I’m a huge Roy fan, but I’ve also been a huge Wade fan. In fact prior to drafting Brandon Roy, Dwayne Wade (along with Dwight Howard) was perhaps the player I most wanted to see in a Blazer uniform. If asked this season, I would have leaned towards Brandon, mainly because I had questions about Wade grinding himself down. But he looks healthy again and is back to being the Wade who carried his team to a title. If I had to pick, I think I go with my head and not my heart and select Wade.
Aldridge / Boozer – Carlos is easily the more productive and better player. But I’m sticking with LaMarcus, as I think we haven’t seen the best from him yet.

A Milwaukee fan would pick Roy
They hate Redd.
And frankly, so do I after watching more than my fair share of Milwaukee games.
He is Z-Bo with a good rep and no willingness to change. He is a huge ballhog who yells at his teammates for taking his shots. Milwaukee wouldn’t mind being out of his contract.
I can’t stand Michael Redd.

I didn't know Milwaukie had a bball team.
Although I suppose they have at least two high school teams. Milwaukee, OTOH, has the Bucks.

I guess I've been in the NW too long.
I’ve worked in Green Bay and have been to Milwaukee on business. But now I can never remember which one is spelled which way.

Hey, I know you're other post got deleted, but I was trying to say that it WAS written very well
sorry about the typo. It was insightful and interesting. Again, the way that looked was awful, so I hope you come back and look at this.

okay but you really
have no room to be calling blazerfan out either.
Dwayne Wade or Brandon Roy? I will make the trade for Dwayne Wade every day of the week, and I will make it a hell of a lot faster than I’d take redd over travis, ( but i still would)

You're right.
Yeah, I was going with the whole “is Wade okay” vibe I was feeling at the end of the season, but given the Olympics and Broy’s third knee surgery I was way off base. Wade all the way.
Who’s more comparable to Roy now? Danny Granger?

You've gone gay over Travis?
Now that’s taking one’s love of a player to a new height.
Odenator – a fan to the nth degree.
PS – you do realize that you have to stand in line behind ann when vieing for Travis’ affections.

Roy vs. Redd????
that’s nuts. NUTS I tell yea. Roy is much closer to Wade than to Redd (note: I would swap Roy for Wade but would not even consider swapping him for Redd).
I’ll take LA over Boozer but only because he’s 5 years younger. Booz is a lot better than him right now.

Boozer is much better offensively
But defensively, I dunno… I think LMA’s a good defender and Boozer is purty weak.
Scoring, rebounding wise, Boozer is very versatile and strong. He’s good. Shouldn’t be on the Olympic team, but good.

Redd's selfish and annoying
He makes his team play poorly. He can shoot, but he has stretches where he can’t hit for his life. During these stretches, he doesn’t defer or try taking it inside. He keeps bricking. There’s no way you see Roy make those kinds of mistakes. While Redd looks faster, I’d bet Roy’s speed wins out. He’s crafty with, doesn’t advertise he’s got it. It’s a subterfuge that works. Redd doesn’t know what that word means.
Aldergidge and Boozer’s a little tougher to decide. Boozer, while somwhat soft, has a better inside game. He’s not quick, but he’s more effective right now. LMA could probably run lateral circles around him, but is softer. I’d say, if you didn’t have Oden, you’d want Boozer because he provides a more traditional and powerful (I am not endorsing Boozer as powerful) inside presence than LMA. But, since we have Oden, LMA’s lateral quickness, ability to run on the break, outside shooting, work ethic and aspirational morality makes him more compatible. I think LMA’s got more potential, but that Boozer is better right now. Because we have Oden, we can take the risk.
A quick note to the other posters. The kiddo said debate. That means you gotta come with reasons. If you’re going to take the time to post a response, how about responding like he asked. It’s only courtesy. Isn’t blazerholic5 pretty young, too? If so, we’re setting a horrendous example of what it means to enter into a debate. And, even if he’s not, I know there’re young kids here. At least let them know the difference between simple one-line opinion pieces. I know the folks here think things through, but you’re not showing it.

No Brainer
Aldridge/Roy.
Boozer went to the money and gave up a chance for a championship. That shows you where his priority is at. He also broke his word.
Roy is a leader. Roy on the bucks and suddenly you have a team winning games it shouldn’t and a locker room that starts uniting.
Stats are not everything.
Additionally… Aldridge is going to be an INCREDIBLE player. Wait and watch people. I’m still amazed at the doubt out there that this kid will be the best PF in the league in a few years. Wait and see.
