Questions:

The winer will find Argentina in his way to the final. Do you want to avoid Argentina?.
The winer will earn a lot of confidence. Good or bad?.
Who should give some rest to some players this game?
Do you test systems or hide them?
I´m ready to lose.

One thing no Blazer fans have talked about

What about Nate assistant coaching for team USA. Think he is picking D’Antoni’s brain non-stop for offense tips?

Seriously, I wonder how this will affect him and if it will improve him as a coach going forward. I was proud to see Nate chosen to be a part of the team.

Nate vs. D’Antoni. That must create impossible requirements. And then you have Coach K, who like to control everything but they play run and gun.

Howard

Howard has been really unimpressive in these Olympics. I don’t know if he is not as into winning or playing hard as the other guys or he’s just not that good.

Kinda amazing how having Kobe, Wade, Paul, and Lebron in the game can make everyone else look ordinary.

Wade and Lebron duo right now

is one of the most deadly recent duos I’ve seen. How many times have we seen Bron feed it to Wade for a dunk…though you would like to think in an NBA game Wade would be the number 2 guy to not leave open all the time if he was on a team with Lebron.

About Howard, I wouldn’t say he’s looked that bad, just very ordinary. Plays are being run for guards by guards (and SF/SG combos) on this team, not the big guys. Howard would look a lot better if he would grab some rebounds instead of swatting them though.

I was pretty happy with Rudy tonight. His defense was ok. I wish people would stop saying his defense is bad… did you by any chance notice who he was guarding? A few big names…can’t think of em right now though… he seemed pretty pesty for that player who’s name we shall not mention. Other than not playing much he was always involved when he was in at both ends. I mean come on he was going at it with a cranky Lebron without backing down, give him some credit. If defense is judged by how well you guard Lebron every single player in the NBA is terrible at defense.

His stats were not that bad

8 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers. Not amazing, but not horrible either on a team that was clearly overwhelmed.

Case in point: Calderon almost disappeared, shooting 0 of 4 from the three point line and 1 of 9 from the field, while also getting 4 rebounds but 0 assists and 0 steals. The guy was a borderline all-star last season, with amazing statistical averages in the NBA. Rudy will be a fine backup next season, probably making at least the All-Rookie team.
