Interview
We have an interview up at EmptytheBench.com today, part of their ongoing series with NBA writers online. You can see it here. There's nothing too revolutionary there but it does give you a clue what people outside of Portland are curious about.

Not true
Anything produced from Dave’s keystroke is revolutionary.

I cringed a little bit
When he asked what was your favorite jailblazer story. What was he expecting you to say?
” Well Ruben’s sexual assault was HI-LARIOUS”
Disorder
Ive been waiting for a guide to come and take me by the hand,
Could these sensations make me feel the pleasures of a normal man?
These sensations barely interest me for another day,
Ive got the spirit, lose the feeling, take the shock away.
WORD UP. STAY. FRESCO.
Excellent interview
Also the other interviews with NBA blogosphere scribes are funny (J.E. Skeets, Ziller from Sactown Royalty, etc.).
Odenied: Asked whether he noticed Oden favoring his right knee, Frye dismissed it entirely. "He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors."
Yep, good interview.
But to take a question with a vague pop culture Iron Chef reference and craft it into a response with details about the chef’s themselves….that was cool. ; )
I thought I was the only one that liked that show.
Good read
Trying to read it from an outsider’s POV, the interview gave a great summation of where we are and what to expect in the future. I think the most powerful part of the interview was the context of retrospection as there was no direct comparison to other teams and their abilities. I left with the impression that the quality of the team was measured by itself and not by how they are stacked against everyone else.
If you let them make you, they'll make you into paper mache.
At a distance you're strong until the wind comes, then you'll crumble and blow away.

Precisely
I’m glad it came across that way.
Right now there’s no measure against other teams because we’re still in flux and inexperienced.
In a couple years there will be no measure against other teams because other teams will have a hard time measuring up.

Really good job, Dave. Your fame is spreading far and wide and that's good.
I just hope some big publication doesn’t lure you away from us.
"Besides, AnntheFan will be here any minute to #25 you." T Darkstar
Why wouldn't you just follow?
That’s the joy of cyberspace. One bookmark later and you’re in.
But then I have no plans to move anywhere.

The Jailblazers were the worst thing to ever happen to the franchise but......
i loved Rider’s game. I liked him purely for his game. He sucked as a person and struggled at life, but when he had it going on his game was fun to watch.
Thanks to Dave, and Thanks for Reading
I just wanted to thank Dave once again for taking the time to so thoughtfully answer our questions for the interview. Like one other commenter mentioned, he did a great job of painting a big picture of where the Blazers franchise is at right now and where it hopes (will?) go.
And, of course, thanks to all of you for reading. Hopefully you’ll have time to check out the other interviews in this series, and there are more to come too. As for the Jailblazers question, I agree that, perhaps, it was a more entertaining storyline for outsiders such as us . We may have better phrased the question as “Which was the most embarassing story to come out of the Jailblazer era?” (I’d have to vote the Damon Stoudemire trying to sneak marijuana through airport security with it wrapped in tin foil bit.)
Anyway, we’re big fans of Blazer’s Edge and you guys have a great community here. We’re also big Iron Chef fans (the original and the current version) and were psyched with how Dave framed that answer.
Cheers,
Brian Spencer
