Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

sMiles and nod boys...

I am aware of the fact that this topic has been discussed a bit before, but I think I have enough new subject matter to warrant a Fanpost, and apologize if I am mistaken and this has been gone over. So we all know Darius supposedly impressed in Boston. Well, Reports have it that Phoenix has also inquired about him. This is according to Hoopsworld, who did not specify as to whether or not Miles worked out. I may be mistaken, but I'm under the impression Darius served a five game suspension while he was sitting out injured last year. Do you remember hearing about him being suspended five games? No. Exactly. Maybe they didn't want the bad press and couldn't dump him yet, maybe he wasn't doing pot. Do you think he impressed Boston with how high he could get (couldn't help it) smoking, or do you think he is trying to recover from this thing by doing some sort of steroids. A lot of baseball players do it, but I don't know how effective it would be for a knee injury since microfractures are induced to grow new cartilage. Then again I'm not a doctor. Same old Darius? If they had one more bad seed left who made the same mistake he always makes, why not say so and publicly penalize him, at least give him an imaginary suspension publicly? Next time he is tested it's gonna be 15 games. Then 20. Soon we won't need to worry whether or not he is gonna play in ten games. My opinion? Not surprised if it was both, but I honestly think he is trying to get back in by doping. If he ends up being a champion on the Boston Celtics next year, take solace in the fact that might be the first player in the NBA with breasts...as in girl breasts.

Darius

He doesn’t have the motivation to take steroids, as it still involves lifting weights to be active. We all saw him, the only thing he was lifting was a big phat bong and pint of Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia.

Great point,

But then why didn’t they announce it? We all knew he would keep tokin’. And I find Trout’s reaction to the news on an interview on the game, which was pure laughter, kinda odd….

Can I vote for both?

He is obviously smoking weed, so if he is taking steroids then he would be doing both.

Fixed it,

I would have voted for that myself.

Lazy.

I ran into him once when he was still doing “rehab”. He blimped up. I mean just because you cant run on your knee doesn’t mean that you have to sit at home eating big mac’s. His work ethic never was great and it was exploited during his “rehab”. I mean look at Oden. Same procedure, but they actually had to kick out out of the gym he was working to hard. D Miles is a lazy player who has always relied on his athletic ability. He doesn’t have that now, so i’m not worried at all.

Oden's micro was done on a smaller area

But totally agreed that he showed unbelievable work ethic afterwards to get even in better shape and agility than before the injury. Miles certainly tried but wasn’t as committed or motivated. That being said I still hope that Miles will find a way to get fit again and be able to continue his career.

Oh, and steroids or HGH only help you to grow muscles, not bone tissue/cartilage/ligaments or something so it’s pretty useless to recover from injuries apart from maybe getting more stability around the injured area. And you need to take it over prolonged periods of time, not just one shot as some baseball idiots have claimed. I think it’s a bigger problem than the NBA likes to admit, looking at the arms of some players.

Coach, I promise I wasn't running hard ...

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
