PrintI thought I'd start a new one since the latest is about ready to drop off the front page and we need to be able to keep in touch.
Here's the LINK to the spreadsheet. If no one else has volunteered I'll update it for Just Blaze, but I have no idea how...
I also have some questions for those of you who have figured some of this out. My team is pretty good at answering questions, but a few more brains won't hurt (and I'll bet there are others who have the same questions.)
1. Team rankings. Under Team Standings on the Team page, it says that Just Blaze is 458 of 1841, (Playground Division A), but when I go into the league standings page the Sad Pandas are #458 and there are nowhere near 1841 teams. I don't find Just Blaze listed at all (though I didn't look through all the beginning pages of the teams that are 5-0 and of course I didn't look at the other Divisions.) The Sad Pandas has the same record and the same rating that we have.
2. Player rankings. My guy is ranked 2754 of 7412. Is that 7412 the total # of players or just players of his position?
I find a little info on the HELP pages and I've started to peruse the forums, but sheesh, I don't have time to weed through everything. Are we just supposed to learn through trial and error?
Good Luck to everyone tonight. I'm rooting for all the BE teams except when we're playing one. Just Blaze has a good chance tonight.

Nice game
Either your defense is kickin, or we just had a really bad shooting night. We’d get second and even third chances and still not score. Then your guys would walk down the court and can a 3 pointer. A +42 points on 3 pointers for you guys. Kinda hard to win when you let the other team shoot almost 50% from 3pt range and they jack up 34 of ‘em.
Sorry we couldn’t have made it closer, but there’s always next season. Good game.

I was looking at the standings
The B-Edge Odenizers are #22 at 4-0
The BEdgers are #45 at 5-1
The BEdgers2 are #55 at 5-1
The Red Unit are #66 at 4-2
The BlazersEdgers are #93 at 3-3
Just Blaze is #100 at 2-4

Shooting.
does it just make the person with the lowest number of training points in shooting have the worst shooting precentage?
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Since we can’t see anyone’s individual points it is hard to tell. I’ll be the first to open that closet …
My shooting pct. is .366 [gak] and I have 29 shooting points. From what I’ve read on the forum over there most things are not equal… I’ve got 48 rebounding points, but am only the 5th highest rebounder on the team.

There seems to be a correlation between your resulting shooting percentage and your shooting attribute and the oppositions defensive attribute. It’s not hard and fast because there is the randomness of being streaky, but it’s a good barometer. So if you want to shoot better, train your shooting, and hope you go against a weak defender.

I’ve got 47 in shooting and 44 in 3pt shooting. Shooting 48.5% from the floor, and 57.1% from 3pt land, sliders all the way over to shoot more 3’s and yet the last 2 games I’ve only shot 1 three in each of them.

This is the exact complaint that has been made in the CR forum
I’ve gotten the impression from the replies (from other users, not the developer) that sliders don’t work well for players with few points … and the attribute points don’t count for much either. Considering that players on the top teams have attributes in the low 500s you can see we have a very long way to go. Even the 6-0 Playground teams have players in the 400s. Apparently as you get better there will be a better correlation between your strengths (which even at 50 are only 10% of your potential for early in the season) and the results. We’re truly on the playground.

Not 10%. I was dealing with apples and oranges. I can’t see individual TCs for the top teams so I don’t know just how their 500 points are distributed. We’ve been adding points like crazy because of low training times, but it will be fewer fewer each day as the season progresses.
At least it won’t be back to zero (or this season’s base) for the next season “Each season, players lose a percentage of their attributes from the prior season (call it offseason rust). The percentage that players will retain is based on how many full seasons they participated in. The formula is such:
Base Stat + Ending Stat * (.25 + (.05 * (Number of Seasons Played – 1))) + Awards and Bonuses earned from all seasons “

We started after many teams, so we were shorted quite a few training points. Hang in there and next season we’ll rock the hizzy!
I'd really like to know why my guy won't shoot 3's
I’ve got the slider set all the way to shoot more threes, the slider all the way over to more jump shots, 3pt shooting is 44, shooting is 47, those are my two highest stats, and yet I have only shot 1 3pter in each of the last two games.

1) Team rankings is not worth looking at. Its explained here but I recommend just seeing how many training points teams have (that’s what decides which division you are in).

2) That’s your ranking among all players.
3) This game is still pretty new- from the looks of things on the forums, changes are still being made to the game and even the most experienced players are still figuring out how everything works.

I totally missed the brouhaha with him here at BE – I don’t know if it was when my computer died and I lost a couple of weeks or if it was in threads I didn’t read. When I saw I was on the same team I was wary (after the warning to cut him – which our captain didn’t do, but maybe he isn’t someone who is active here) but I haven’t seen anything subversive there.

I just don’t feel qualified to be a coach or I’d start a new team and take you with me.

I thought at first eh, how bad can he be. Everyone deserves a second chance. Sure enough, he’s just someone craving attention anyway he can get it. Oh well, he can post whatever he wants I’m not going to bite.

I know i don’t post a lot here but I thought the team should know that I read BEdge regularly. If someone would rather be coach I am comfortable with giving control away. I definitely love the game and want to play but I don’t think I am as committed as Jorga. Let me know.

I think Jorga might be better at coach than myself and as long as I get a No-Trade clause I am willing to make him captain. Which I believe is the same as Coach. Or we can have a team vote if others would like me to step down.

If we go this route
you will need to find someway to let the rest of us know what the new password and team name are. We have a young team but a good team. If we could just get rid of Zack….i mean pippenainteasy.

will be taken off our team following tonight’s game. I think we should focus on getting another point guard today. I have changed the password so just message me on the courtrivals mail system for the new password. I think this will be a positive move for the team in helping us build moral. Just think of it like the Knicks buying out Marbury but only on a much smaller scale.
If anyone is reading this that is interested in joining Just Blaze we are looking for a new Point Guard. Something like a 6’1” assist machine.

is visible on the team site so you’ll have to change it again after you drop him.
I’m going to be away from my computer for a few hours and then back again for a couple and then gone again. I’ll set up my training (and I moved my defensive sliders as suggested), but I’ll miss any last minute stuff.

Each player gets equal playing time as well
The playing time is split 50/50, the first team plays together then all get pulled at the same time and the second team plays together. So we don’t really care who the starter’s are, just try to keep one of every roll on each unit.

A league where you create a player, and you are given stats, you train up your stats to be a better player, at first it doesn’t take long to raise a stat, but it takes longer as the stat gets higher. You only get so many training points a day (but you can raise how many you get by training endurance).
