Gameday Open Thread: Blazers vs. Hornets

Finally the chance is here to take on one of the true titans of the Western Conference!  I am so looking forward to testing ourselves against Chris Paul and...what?  What do you mean "not here"?  Well at least there's David West then.  He's pretty accomplis...huh?  No way!  I suppose next you're going to tell me that Peja Stojakovic didn't...YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING.  Then who?  Hilton Armstrong?!?  Who the HECK is Hilton Armstrong???  Well geez, then Brandon and Greg and the boys better win today.  That's all I've got to say.

You can register your own thoughts here in the comment section before, during, and after the game.  Enjoy the massacre!

I wonder if we can get an interview with Oden...

Or just read this
There is a chance that Jerryd Bayless’ 36-point special against Phoenix on Saturday will be his final shining moment at summer league. The Portland rookie, who was added to the select team today, attended the noon practice, but did not participate because of pain in his hand. According to a summer league official, he had an MRI and the results were negative.

KP seemed to back off

the refrain we have been hearing for 3 years that we need a veteran to take this team to the very top. He is recognizing we have the leaders in Brandon, Greg and LMA.

I don't think he backed off so much...

as he didn’t commit himself one way or the other.

It's so silly

When they were talking about Vince Carter, I just started laughing. Yeah we want an old guy when our window doesn’t even open for at least a year.

Wasn’t he included in the Bonzi Wells trade last season? Also a nice way to get back your players. We should have invited Taurean Green to our Summer League team.

I know what the Blazers are secretly planning

They’re going to surgically trim several inches off of Batum’s arms and graft the tissue onto Bayless.

B'oh

I was gonna say that joke.

Batum has a 7’4” wingspan, take 4 inches off and give it to Bayless and Bayless will be lankiest boy around and Batum will still have the lank that puts money in the bank.

LANKINESS WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Mortimer

PS: I missed this entire game pretty much, how worthwhile is it to watch? I’m gonna watch it regardless probably, but are there good interviews with KP, Petteri doin’ good, stuff like that?

Or is it everyone overrating Hill because he is white and has a goofy beard?

I agree with Timbo he looks like he could play SOMEWHERE non-NBAish, but he’s soooo slow and not all that big to get away with being a slow non-athletic big who fouls more than he blocks (though he can block shots). How tall is he?
