Another Comparison of the Big Three

Star-divide

Portland Trail Blazers basketball is about to embark on a journey that is unlike any in the history of the NBA.  I struggled to find a comparison of the big three (Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, and LaMarcus Aldridge) and then it hit me like a ton of bricks.  The Portland Trail Blazers are the Kids of the Future.

The Jonas Brothers are already the Kids of the Future and I realized they are quite similar to the Blazers.  They are a dynamic trio, where each member knows his role, and they have years ahead of them to improve and mature.

The leader of the Jonas Brothers is the youngest brother Nick (left in photo).  Although he is only 15, Nick has the most experience of the three brothers.  He was discovered singing in a barbershop at age six and since then he has been on Broadway and he has a solo album under his belt.  Nick is the most versatile of the Jonas Brothers.  He is often the lead vocals, back up vocals, lead guitar, and drums.  Nick also acts and he has type 1 diabetes.

The comparison to of Nick Jonas to Brandon Roy almost speaks for itself.  Although Roy is not the youngest of the big three, he is without a doubt the leader.  He also has the most experience from his four years in college, he is the most versatile of the big three, and he has a learning disability.

Joe Jonas (center of photo) is the middle brother and the most prominent of the Jonas Brothers.  While performing, he normally stands between his two brothers, or in the center.  He is also in the center of their newest album cover, A Little Bit Longer.  Joe is 18 and actually wanted to become a comedian instead of a singer.  He plays the tambourine and guitar, but his role is basically limited to the lead singer.

Greg Oden is definitely the most prominent of the big three.  He is the team’s center, he wanted to be a dentist, and his role with the team is basically limited to playing the center position.

Kevin Jonas (right in photo), at age 20, is the oldest Jonas Brother.  Kevin plays lead guitar and sings background vocals.  He is not to flashy, he knows his role, and he fills it admirably.

LaMarcus Aldridge plays power forward and backup center.  He is not flashy, knows his role, and fills it admirably.

There is also a "Bonus Jonas" named Frankie.  Frankie has his own band called Drop/Slap but he is scheduled to join the band in the future.  The comparison to Jarryd Bayless speaks for itself, since both guys will be rookies.  Also, Bayless is on a summer league team but he will join the Blazers regular roster in the future.

I believe the Jonas Brothers are about to take their careers to a new level.  They are on the cusp of greatness.  The same could be said for our big three (or four).  I cannot wait to witness both journeys towards greatness.  I hope you will witness and enjoy the journeys as well.

Truly disturbing Tom.

I admit it, your sense of humor is even worse than mine, congratulations.

The Jonas Brothers are actually brothers?? I thought that was a stage gimmick …like the Ramones….or the Spice girls

You know what seems unfair? The Dee Dee and Joey are dead, but total DB Tommy Ramone is still alive. Injustice.

Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

The problem with this fanpost

is that if I start going all off-topic on it, nobody would be able to tell. What fun is that?

The Best Part Is

That I discuss four Blazers so this fanpost is on topic.

Nope, No Kids for Me

I wanted to retire from writing diaries but not until I got it up to 80. I think just about everything else has been covered and for some reason the Jonas Brothers are everywhere I turn. I thought it was a valid yet flimsy comparison. I researched them for three days and know way too much about them now.

The Cusp of Greatness

Someone should write a book chronicling this upcoming season titled “the cusp of greatness.” Even though the Jonas sisters kind of make me throw up in my mouth a little bit, I have to admit that they have quite the money making scheme going and they will probably remain popular for some time…And Sophia, seriously, we haven’t forgotten that Nic Batoom looks like a recovering cancer patient. I don’t need stalker pictures to remind me that he makes Rajon Rondo look like Jabba the Hutt. :0)

Somebody wrote me during the draft that a guy on a Knicks blog had dubbed Pritchard "The Hamburgler". In this case the appellation seems accurate. Robble-robble. - Dave

The disturbing thing about this fanpost...

is that it almost makes sense to me. I actually thought about doing something similar a couple of weeks ago except that I was going to use the Beatles.

The big difference I see between Tom and me is that my filters are still working.

I would actually

like to see your Beatles comparison! I am a Beatlemaniac. I have been working on a Star Trek comparison (the original series). It’s not going too well.

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

I did a the Star Trek one

It sucked so bad I refuse to link it

That's alright

I keep Blazer-fing songs that none of the 20-somethings ever heard of. I have enough for a greatest hits package already.

Have you heard the "Love" album by the Beatles?

It’s a brilliant re-mix of their music by the original producer, Sir George Martin, and his son Giles, sanctioned by the remaining Beatles. You can find the whole thing online but I’m too lazy to find a link. I believe it was commissioned for the Cirque du Soleil. I like it.

On the comments for that video, I saw “kreo k es una kancion perfecta:p”. Is this the way kids text each other in Spanish? With “k” = “que” and so forth?

I can picture the Rose Garden blasting When you look into my eyes during player intros. I think that would pump up every Blazer and fan. It’s on par with the Alan Parson’s Project Bulls’ intro of the 90s.
