bayless=kobe ?

while watchin the game yesterday i saw that bayless can finish with his left ,something haters said he couldnt. After finishing with his left one of the commentators said that hes developing his left like kobe ,and that had me thinking that jb does have that kobe mentality about him where hes really focused .so could baybay end up anything like kobe ,he did end up at the 13th pick so i dont know,im not saying that hes gonna up anything like kobe or can be compared to kobe but can he be the point gaurd version kobe

maybe?

i dont know im tired and this really sounds stupid doesnt it yea ok but wtv

i still love the kid

Perfect comparison

I see no difference between Kobe and Bayless. They are pretty much the exact same person. I think they may be long lost brothers.

Translation

“Bayless is developing his weak hand, just like Kobe has. He is also fiercely competitive. Coincidentally, Baless technically fell to the 13th pick like Kobe. I realize Kobe and Bayless play differently and I’m not trying to suggest they’re the same but do you see some of that Kobe-ness in Bayless? I’m just asking. P.S. I’m 13.”

I don't know, but here is some helpful info on posting images:

img src=”http://www.pictureplace.com/images/picture.jpg” width=”300px” Add < & > on each end of it

Make sure you have a .gif or .jpg URL address. Any other URL address means the image is linked into the HTML.

If you need to find the .gif or .jpg URL on a page, just right click on the image. Select Properties (in IE) or View Info (in Netscape). A small window will appear in either case with the fully qualified URL.

Sizing the image:
If the image is huge, just resize it using the width= tag. 150px is a good starting point; 470px is the maximum width that won’t mess up the margins. You don’t need to use the height= tag, the browser will set the proportions accordingly.

If you need a place to host your images, you can sign up for a free account at Shutterfly or Photobucket. Both are free. Instructions for Shutterfly are here. Be advised that images displayed from Shutterfly seem to disappear after a few days.

by clonigro on Jul 18, 2008 12:51 PM PDT   0 recs

Ok I'll bite....

Once you get past the fact the Rex isn’t Kobe and never will be, he does possess the drive and desire. While I think most folks understand the importance of this, the ability sometimes gets trivialized as something that can be turned on or off, or developed where it is lacking.

I think this is the same as saying somebody with a 32” vertical leap would be so much better, “if they would just go ahead and use a 44” vertical leap!”.

Same statement as, “he has all the physical gifts, but if he would just get motivated he could be the next Jordan, Kobe, etc”. Heck if that ever came true we would have long since forgotten who Jordan was in the wake of all his superior successors.

His apparent motivation (we’re still guessing at alot of this) is what has me most excited about Rex joining the team.

no way would they give us Vince Carter for iDea

This is like one of the dumbest trade proposalz ever. iDea has had some great posts, but hes still unproven, He hasent even made a thousand points yet. No gm is gonna give us an allstar quality player with out a little more in return. They would at least want one of our big three, either Dave, Ben or Mortimer in a strait up trade. wich just wouldnt make any sence for us. Vince doesnt fit the culture near as well, and would likely detract from the cohesiveness thats made our team so successful. This trade proposal FAILS. But maybee it can be salvaged, to play devils advacate.

Short of the systematic assination of the ENTIRE fanbas, Kevy (diobolical genious) might be able to package some young talent with an inflated salery to make it work. Maybee any two of

BlazerFan1, who is a great looking prospect, plays with a lot of emotion, and is very loyal to the team-intangibles that translate verry well,

iDea,- who althoe doesnt seem to get alot of burn for his length of time on the teem is proving himself very efficient in making his points and not afreaid of contact, he also has a good overall understanding of the game,

nightbluefruit, who is one of the headiest post players is the game today, feircely tanacious, and competative, who can also play the post both with artistic finness or just hammer it home,

plus

tominhawiis’ expiering contract.

This is a trade that saticefies both sides and works with the trade machine.

All that said, I would still rather not do the trade, becouse I like our team how it is.

The title just makes us look like blind homers. I’ve always thought of us BEdgers as having high bball IQ’s. We know the game and it shows. Comparing our rook to the best player in the League after 2 summer league games makes us look silly.

BEdge-reading fans of different teams? That seems mighty self-centered and lacking in self-esteem, in this BEdger’s opinion.

Is there a way to combine our players to make K*be or Lebron?

So, Bayless may or may not equal K*be, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get there!

Bayless + Oden – Blake = Kobe?

Roy+Oden-Martell = Lebron?

Joel-Roy+Outlaw = Larry Bird?

The street lights is on.

by Magnum on Jul 18, 2008 1:00 PM PDT   0 recs

haha

I love it. But how much Roy does Joel have in him to subtract?

How about

Outlaw + Webster + Oden’s beard = LeBron

by MavetheGreat on Jul 18, 2008 1:25 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

If you actually tied Outlaw and webster together

and then taped Oden’s beard to them

and then shot them out of a cannon

you might come close to Lebron.

by nightbluefruit on Jul 18, 2008 1:28 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I think you have to use all of Oden's face in addition to his beard

because Travis and Martell are still too baby-faced to look like Lebron

I'm not exactly sure how the process works

I think I was going for late career Larry Bird when he could barely move. So take Joel, who is a big man and obviously not as quick as a forward, then subtract away Roy’s abilities, like his smooth crossover and ability to get into the paint and then add outlaw back for some clutch shooting and PRESTO, you have Larry Bird circa 1992.

I think there should be a Blazer’s Edge challenge using this kind of system. Every day a new NBA player is chosen and we all submit what combination of our players would end up equaling said player. Equations should be judged on plausibility, originality and strength of their argument supporting their submission.

Size Matters

Bayless is listed at 6’3” 200 lbs. If you were to see somebody on the MAX that size, it wouldn’t really seem that he is that big of a guy. Kobe is 6’6” and 220 lbs. If you were to see somebody that big on the street you would say “that is one big dude”. Kobe’s size allows him to do things that Bayless can’t (like post people up). Therefor Bayless does not equal Kobe

Man I'm not trying to say something to put anyone down but...

What kind of comparison is that? It’s just begging to be laughed at. No Kobe and Bayless are nothing alike. These topics bother me because sometimes these get posted on forums and other fans start to get the idea Blazer fans are not knowledgeable. This is up there with that thread started on the GS state of mind about trading Oden for Monta.

by BRoyInThe4th on Jul 18, 2008 5:32 PM PDT   0 recs

What's with All the Jerks?

First of all, who cares?

Second of all:

other fans start to get the idea Blazer fans are not knowledgeable

You know what, whoever posted this IS a Blazer fan, I’d have to guess (his name sort of implies it, don’t you think?). This would mean that, yes, some Blazer fans aren’t, in your estimation, knowledgeable. Can you handle that? Why not just deal with the fact that there are people out there that aren’t as informed as you are on particular topics or who have differing opinions?

I mean, this kid is 13 (link) for heaven’s sake. 13 as in, last year he wasn’t even a teenager yet. He took the time, effort and courage to type this up and share it with the world (something I see you haven’t yet done, by the way). While I’m generally for keeping BEdge fanposts to levels of decency in writing and content, I also think this is why you often find people here who say “I wrote my first fanpost and people jumped all over me – no way am I doing that again!” – is that the culture we’re looking for? I’ve slammed people in the past, I admit it, but I’ve also seen far worse and think Blazerholic deserves a little less ball-kicking.

BH5 – keep those posts comin’, dude. You’ve got at least one set of ears.

It's already getting bad defending the Blazers

People talking about how hyped Oden is and how he hasn’t done anything. Now there is this Bayless hype. I was very happy we got him on draft night, another KP steal in my view. I see him as the 4th pick in that draft. Doesn’t mean I’m going to start a thread comparing him to Kobe after 3 good summer league games. I guess this is a new day and age though.

There’s a lot to be excited about but the comparisons are out of control.
