L*ker love for the Blazers?

Hey Bedgers,

Sorry for the link post and additional apologies if it's already made its way hither (didn't see it posted yet).  A nice and light-hearted breakdown of why the red and black will ascend to the Western Conference's pinnacle next year.

As much as I despise the "southeners" who sport the mustard and fuscia, it still is nice to have them feeling the heat.

Enjoy, DC

What's with y'all not properly spelling out ...

the Los Angeles Lakers.

It’s somewhat similar to whenever some pious, sanctimonious fool won’t spell out God or Yahweh due to religious reasons. Instead, such dolts will write out the names of those deities as G-d and YHVH, respectively.

It’s just that, well, the whole thing seems like petty behavior.

Exactly what I would have said, better than I could have said it. Nice work, silky.

AK1984, you are misguided here and need to rethink your argument.
consider any cultural norm you have; then consider it ridiculed.

Best wishes, much love,
A L*ker Hater

um, no

If it were done out of meanness or spite, ya, it would be petty behavior. However, this is just an unwritten rule that most of the posters here follow out of camaraderie with each other, and the basis for it stems from most Blazer fans seeing the Lakers as a team that we’ve had on and off rivalries with… no one is trying to mean, spiteful, doltish, or petty. If you read the posts that include dialogue about the L*kers here, you’ll find that most of the posters actually see the them as a great team (see recent predictions of how the Western Conference will shake out this year) with arguably one of the best players in the league.

I can see how it could be taken as petty behavior on the superficial level initially, but I’m sure you’ll find that it is just a fun rule void of any malice or hate once you read deeper into the what is being said; nothing more, nothing less.

It's just fun

I’m waiting for my Laker toilet paper to come in the mail. I hope it’s soft.

I'm a little confused by your tactics

That guy had some good points

I don’t think the Blazers will be #1 but he brought up some good thoughts.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
