Greg Oden is a man among manly men
Before
After:

Didn't see this posted. Basically, holy cow look at his forearms!
OT: Finals week is kicking my ass. I need about 29 more words to fill this up so that I can post this. It's not just finals, it's the combination of freelance work along with finals. But, mmm, money. Holy crap I need 12 more words?
Gob: [arms crossed] Then there's me. The joker. The goofball. The magician.
[quickly makes a magician's gesture with his hands]
Michael: I thought you were gonna do a little fireball there.
Gob: I was. It didn't go off.

Forget the forearms look at the width of his shoulders. Cheese.

He has POPEYE arms
Oh lordy Mae, once he gets his quickness back and trims down some, he will be a MONSTER. I know Medina and the trainers will keep his quickness and explosiveness intact.
I’ve said it in wide-eyed optimistic homer fashion before, but maybe this year off was the best thing to ever happen to him. How else could he have been able to work out so much, and to do it RIGHT?
Great Caesar’s Ghost he is gonna be awesome. It’s like Greg Oden ate another Greg Oden and took the other Greg Oden’s muscles and wrapped them around his old muscles.
Who will be able to stop this kid, East or West? Dwight Howard is gonna look like a midget next to Oden.

I agree with the injury being a good thing
if it doesn’t come back to bight him later (i.e. re injur, have more knee problems)
He didn’t get caught up in hype, he’ll have a chance to come in next year as basically a sophomore in college instead of a freshman, he’ll have year of solid NBA weightlifting and training with shooting coaches….
I think he’s going to be scary.
Dwight Howarda a midget? well, maybe not, but he get R.o.Y.
Book it.
The name's Ainge, Danny Ainge. Fear our team; fear it's range.
No longer do we find making the playoffs strange.
We are the chosen, but we don't fear change.
Send us a valid trade offer, and maybe we'll make an exchange. Just don't estrange us by short changing us.

Dwight Howard isn't super tall
Only 6’9” without shoes, and if both he and Oden are wearing their shoes, then Oden is nearly 2 inches taller. He weighed more coming into the league, and obviously has only gotten bigger. They got the same wingspan, with Oden getting a little advantage with the standing reach because of his extra height.
We’ll see if Oden has kept his quickness and all that, but right now, he’s bigger than Dwight Howard.

Howard
has a short neck. Neck lenght is useless. That’s one of the reasons he plays bigger than his height.
by Falcao on Jun 6, 2008 12:35 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Intimidation factor
That extra inch of neck length would be a tiny bit more intimidating for a guard coming down the lane.

Howard's neck is too short
It makes it so he can’t even turn his head past his bulging shoulders. He has to turn his whole body to look left or right.
Thank God Oden can save his energy and time by just turning his head to look at something, enabling him to catch up on his reading and save his energy for the court!

Maybe Oden would play barefooted.
Is that against league rules?
Could a player play barefooted if he wanted to?
Is the NBA’s Zola Budd a possibility?

I wouldn't want to mess with him
and his growth is impressive but I’d hardly say he’s a man among manly men while comparing him to “Blaze”. I’m not sure what Blaze is, but manly man doesn’t come to mind.
Can’t wait to see Oden on the court tossing opponents around like the St. Helens erruption tossed the trees.

Be afraid
He’s obviously training for a career in MMA, since he’d probably hurt most of the guys in the NBA with arms like that…

I just hope he keeps some quickness.
Jason Quick said that he was bigger than Dwight Howard now. I believe it. He’s got Ben Wallace arms. I can’t wait till next year. Great picture!

Wow
Dude, he looks like he aged 10 years in one season. And a season ago he looked like a 32 year old.
At this rate, he’ll look like Grandpa Simpson in 2012.

I was going to post a link to the GO injury fanposts
But I just read my own and it depressed me. Not only because of the content, but just from the style I could tell how angry, frustrated, disoriented and shocked I had been. I read others’ and the results were the same. What a terrible feeling that was. Ugh. I recommend the Outlaw highlights.
Actually, just watch this.

I noticed this too
Oden is swoll.
"The next day in practice, if you sweat, it's going to come out of your pores, regardless. If you ask any coach around the league how many times they have smelled liquor on a player . . . As long as that player is showing up on time, doing the drills and running, that's part of it. But there have been times, yeah. Yeah, you probably smelled liquor on me. But it's not like I'm at practice drunk. I'm totally focused."

the new flop rules are going to effect odens play, like what was the look on his face when he first heard. was he excited?

What bothers me
Is that I am scared to get excited. I think that might be why I am clinging to Rudy.
