Barbosa Trade
I quickly excited when I heard about all of the rumors of Portland trying to acquire Barbosa from Phoenix. I thought that this trade would really improve the Blazers because of the versatility Barbosa offers. A lot of the speculated trades included our 13th pick, but now that the draft is over, the likelihood of this trade has fallen. Or maybe Bayless has more value then the 13th pick? Phoenix is looking for a back-up for Nash, and Bayless seems to fit the part. He is a guard that can push the ball and create for himself and his teammates. We Blazer fans have become so used to trades during the draft that we have forgotten about the option to trade after the draft. Has this trade fallen through or can it still happen?

It's like you agree
But you don’t want to bother typing it out. There are a lot of times when someone says all that needs to be said.
It also represents adding +1 to your comment total, who at the site has the most comments anyways?

I don't think so
Dave doesn’t comment too much in the threads, just in the gameday threads. He probably has the most Posts by far but I’m pretty sure someone else would have the most comments.

He'll trade him
His teammates will get sick of having to tie his shoes for him, because he can’t reach, so KP will have to trade him.

Bayless is a better fit for us than Barbosa

He's a BABY BLAZER...
................................... for better or worse, that’s the team we have. We get to see if they learn to play together and develop into stars. It’s kinda fun. And no jackasses evident among them, which is remarkable.

No way,
a thousand times over. Besides, MB said a week before the draft this rumor was nothing, meaning it was probably another smoke screen, showing that we intended to get our guard via trade.

Isn't Bayless pretty much the same as Barbosa?
Except with more upside, and less current-side? Oh, and better defense.

"Deal or No Deal...?"
No deal.
This trade seems like it had some legitamicy to it compared to our needs, but was most likely a back-up plan. KP’s versatility/adversity in the draft allowed us to pick up a high quality player for little to nothing. No sense in trading off a talent like Bayless for Barbosa now.
Bayless should fit in very well with the other guards we have. So much in fact, that Blake’s minutes may depreciate. If we trade, I believe it should have something to do with RLEC and potentially Diogu.

Too many languages
We have to deal with Spanish, French, Finnish, and Arizonan (we’ve got THREE of them now, anyone notice?). We just can’t handle Portuguese, too.

Don't we only have two from Arizona?
Or are you counting the new guy from ASU?

It's long gone and dead
If you listen to KP, Bayless was always rated by them as the fourth best player in the draft. Somehow, I don’t think KP’s going to trade the 4th best player in a draft like this for Barbosa, or for very many players at all at this point. If KP’s judgement turns out to be right, then you’d be giving up a future all star. And that just isn’t going to happen, anymore than you’d talk about trading Roy or Aldridge, for example, for Barbosa. KP said they “hit a home-run”. Well, you better get used to Bayless, because if you think KP knows ball player, then he’s going to be around awhile.
