One final vote: Outlaw vs. Webster poll... SF Banter.
This is the hard question for me, if we really have to throw in a chip to get a player like Devin Harris (and I am not talking about trading either Outlaw or Webster to get a draft pick, but a player like Harris or Heinrich), which budding forward would you personally rather see stay with the Blazers for the long run?
Personally, I'd like to see us walk out of this draft with both Martell and Webster locked in as Blazers key cogs for the future. BUT, these are obviously KP's best chips to play. So if he needs them, he might use them. And I hope Portland doesn't loose both on draft day as that would be a huge blow to the PDX fanbase, I think.
If we trade one, I am certain that James Jones33 would want to remain in the Red & Black, but if we keep both I can see JJ33 wanting out. Which would be fine.
Any Small Forwards that you would like to replace either Outlaw or Webster if they are moved? Any other PTB small forward thoughts? PG has been the biggest topic, but it is gameday so lets talk SF too.

Nicknames...
I know we have had this topic tossed around a few times, and honestly I never weighed in. But, if you want to remind us what nicknames Bedgers came up with for these two ballers that would be great. Here are mine:
Martell Webster, the Prototype
Travis Outlaw, Mr. Electric
What do you think?

I like Troutlaw myself...
Just seems to “fit” Travis….
As far as Martell goes, I’m offended that he’s allowed to wear number 8. What ever happened to the respect for “That six-eight great from Michigan State…number 8! Steeeeeeve Smith!”
Loved his Mark Mason introduction. I remember those days…ahh
From Portland’s Wilson High and Aaaaaaarizona—number 3! Daaaaamoooon Stoudamire!
Then you had his….AaaaaaveedoussassSaaaabooonnnnis! all one long word and drawn out.
Then Pip he would do all choppy
Scot-tee Pip-pen!

June 20th post Travis vs. Martell link
There was no poll on this previous post, which is why I created a new post. SO, maybe before you click that button to cast your official vote you remind yourself what others have been saying here:

Travis Outlaw
He’s sweet, he’s tenured and he’s tall.
Also, he has a better contract (re: Dave’s Martell/Frye/Jack imbroglio) and is clutch.

Cripes
Personally this is one of the toughest blazer polls I have ever had to answer!
I love them both and would hate to lose either but if i’m gonna keep one its gotta be…..martell. With the team we are assembling i’ll take martell(the lights out shooter and potentially very good defender) over travis(the close to unstoppable one on one player)

I Hear Ya
When I have my wakeful-night-dream-fantasy lineup, it’s Blazers running the old-school fastbreak non-stop, and I think Martell fits in better with that than Oultaw. HOWEVER, I started out as a casual fan a scant year-plus ago and IMMEDIATELY connected with Outlaw. Not for his dunks (I think they’re overrated) nor his wingspan (good for a boxer, but it doesn’t a great basketballer make). What sold me on Outlaw were his contradictions: longevity and youth, toughness and finesse, stubbornness and poise. I know many, many casual fans who are enamored by Roy, Oden, etc., but unilaterally the eyes of every single person I know light up when Travis’ name is mentioned.
I think that counts for something, and that’s why I choose him.

As a basketball analyst, probably Martell. As a fan, I keep Travis.

You know...
That’s exactly where I come from.
I don’t believe Webster wants to be here because I think he wants to be the man… so… that leans me towards Trout. Otherwise, based on only an analytical perspective, I go web-head.

T-Bone. Me and a friend have been calling him that for a couple years.

Keep Martell
He’ll be Ray Allenesque. Trout is great, good in the clutch, I’d hate to let him go, but if we need to trade either of these guys to get our starting PG, I’d keep Martell.

Martell
he works better with other players, travis is all about getting his own shot, which is exciting, but not good for the first unit. especially in light of the fact that james jones opted out i think both will stay but with more minutes martell will just hit more shots, where as travis is either red hot or having a bad game

You're right
that’s why I’m surprised he’ll be playing more at SF, unless it’s all a smoke screen. Travis did well backing up PF.
I guess we’ll see.

Keep Webster
if we trade him, we will regret it…. big time
by raging WebTed on Jun 26, 2008 10:41 AM PDT 0 recs
Keep them BOTH
Both were drafted by the Blazers, developed with the squad, tight
with the chemistry and positives that abound. The key difference is that
Martell has bought into Nate’s desire to be the stopper. Defense wins
championships. GO/Smooth/Pryz inside, Martell/BRoy/? Westbrook? on
the perimeter. TO/Rudy/Frye/JJ (White unit) will outscore the 2nd team
opponent ! Nuff said.
I WANT MY BLAZERS BACK ! GET A DEAL DONE COINCAST !!!!!!
It's GO time !
