Jack, Outlaw and #13 for Mike Miller?

Unlike the Barbosa trade, I think it's safe to say that this deal, as announced, makes almost no sense for the Blazers, no matter how you try to spin it.
Travis is clearly a better player than Miller. Also, Miller duplicates way too many of the traits we already have in Blake, Jones, and Webster. Besides, there will be players on the board at #13 with better potential than Miller has, also.
Now, if Memphis were to throw in their 2008 pick, then maybe this could work. I'd hate to see Travis go, but there is no doubt that Augustin and Westbrook will both be there at #5.
What do you think?
Would you like to see Mike Miller in Blazers colors?

"Travis is clearly a better player than Miller."
False.
Mike Miller is an outstanding shooter and scorer. He was on the US National Team for Olympic qualifying and was a late cut for Beijing. Mike Miller is a significantly better player than Travis Outlaw right now.
Miller would be a huge upgrade in our starting lineup over Webster.
The reason the Blazers probobly wouldn’t do this trade is that Miller is 5 years older than Outlaw, plus adding Jack and the 13th pick makes the price too steep.
If the trade was something like Webster+13 for Miller, I’d do it (though that probobly doesn’t work salary wise).

Webster and #13 is closer, but I don't think that Memphis wants Web
I’d think about Outlaw and a late first, but not the #13. It’s possible to get that late pick, but it’s been reported that Memphis wants to move the #28 pick (which they already have in the Gasol trade) and get out of the late first. I don’t see how it could work, but maybe a third team makes things more interesting.

Miller makes $9M next season.
Any trade would need to include more pieces than Outlaw and Jack since they only combine for roughly $6M. Webster will make almost the same amount of money as Outlaw next year, so that’s a moot point salary-wise.
I’m a bit surprised that this is brought up again. Didn’t Brian Wheeler already say we rejected this? The only difference is the inclusion of Jack, which doesn’t add much (more filler is still required anyway, and we aren’t desperate to dump Jack’s expiring contract).

Isn't this the same rumor that Wheeler announced?
And he announced that it was rejected, if I remember right.

Yup
This poll is a few weeks too late. KP already rejected the trade.

KP dropped the Veto on this deal.
But now that Jack is involved, maybe he’ll rethink it?

The rumor was worded:
for a veteran shooter, SUCH AS Mike Miller. Not for Mike Miller. Odd that it was reported out of New York. Looking for relevance to them I glanced over the Knicks roster and noted that they don’t even have a player like that. Someone somewhere is blowing smoke.

I'd do this in a heartbeat if...
they included the other mike. The likely hood of that happening is microscopic so I’m just dreaming. Ive been bored lately. Thursday better come soon

Any deal with the Grizz should be a fleece
13 plus jack plus trout = miller plus conley.
Blazers have leverage. Grizz have none.

Hells Yeah
JJ, Trout, #13 for Mike Miller and # 5, of course I would do that then we could do the deal with Miami that Memphis was going to do if OJ is available at #5 and Mike Miller for #2 and Blount or we could use the #5 and something else to trade up even further.

no trade Outlaw
this is only my thinking so its going to take the PTB 3 years to get far enough ahead of the curve to make Mike Miller a difference maker. I just think its considerably wiser to keep Outlaw, who in three years will be beaming, still young, but veteran, and have enormous value.
Im not eager to see KP make a deal that involves Outlaw. Part of me suspects Pritchard is not throwing out ridiculous offers, but receiving them instead. Teams want what we got, and in Travis’ case its no wonder. Nope. Unless a team is willing to accept Jarrett Jack or Web, its not going to happen. Certainly a trade will happen, the roster is just too packed. But its not going to inlvolve Travis and I will take an I told you so wager against anyone that Travis will remain a PTB. And I know I start too many sentences with prepositions
