Bold but very possible trade predictions!
Here's a couple possible trade scenarios
1. Portland trades draft rights to the #13 pick (DeAndre Jordan), Channing Frye, and Travis Outlaw to the Minnesota Timberwolves for the draft rights to the #3 pick (Jerryd Bayless) and cap fillers
Minnesota is looking for a center, and since they're still a couple years away form actually competing, picking up a guy with as much potential as Jordan would fit into their long term plans. Also Outlaw can step in at SF and start immediately. Portland gets their shooter and decent ball handler to play alongside Roy. Bayless is super athletic, awesome shooter (made 30 straight threes in a workout), and decent with the ball in his hands.
2. Portland trades the #33 pick, #36 pick, and Steve Blake to the Denver Nuggets for the #20 pick (Nicholas Batum) and cap fillers
I think Kevin Pritchard really likes the way Batum worked out the other day. He was a silky smooth shooter with decent post up moves and with his length he could become a shut down defender. Denver has been looking for a real point guard to distribute and Blake has proven himself down there before, and the draft picks are just to make the trade more appealing to the nuggets

I think I might be in the minority
But these trades are crazy. If you trade Frye and Outlaw, who backs up LmA?

Backups
Good point, but the Blazers are too early in the curve to be worrying about backups – it’s the big minute guys that matter now. In a couple years, we can fill out the bench using the MLE…

Trade one doesn't make sense for us.
Trade three young frountcourt guys that have shown they can play (2 of them) for a guard that hasn’t played in the NBA.

Batoom is a long way from being a lock down defender
Blazers.com’s draft central has much better workout videos than what you could see on oregonlive.com and after watching Joel Alexander’s extended one on one work (a lot was against Batum), I was more shocked about how weak Batum looked than anything. He may turn out to be a good player but I have serious doubts that he will be able to contribute for quite a few years.

if both trades happen
trade 2 would have to be for koufos or another big. (I have a mancrush on koufos) so this is ok by me. Another name to look for is hickson, he would be great too, but I’d be concerned about if he’s ready now.

Trade 2 isn't very good for us
The 20 pick is close enough to the #33 and #36 picks that if you draft early 2nd round Europrospects, I think there is a pretty good chance that at least one of them will end up being a better player than a Europrospect taken at #20. In addition, the 2nd round picks give the team much more flexibility in terms of what contracts it can offer the picks, so there is less chance of them staying in Europe because we can’t match the salaries they are being offered there. Blake is a descent player as well, so offering Blake and 2 picks in the 30’s for the #20 is giving up way too much.

Alright.
I see so many people trading up to select Bayless, Love, Mayo, Beasley, etc. with a high lottery pick. The problem I see is that I can’t see Pritchard selecting someone that didn’t work out for him.
From past history, we know Pritchard targets a player and does what needs to be done to get that player. The three players that have impressed so far are Joe Alexander, Russell Westbrook, and DJ Augustin.
So KP goes on the warpath to get his guy, who I believe to be Augustin. He is a great kid and a great passing and shooting PG, as well as a more ready PG than Westbrook and a better fit than Alexander.
1) He buys a late first round pick, like New Orleans at 26, or somewhere in that general vicinity.
2) He packages our three second rounders into a mid-late first round pick, somewhere around 17-24.
3) He packages our three first round picks to trade up to the Clipper’s spot at #7. They need players as they have very few signed for next year.
4) KP ends the day by selecting DJ Augustin.
The reason I believe it is Augustin is simple. Pritchard always talks about finding a guy with “it.” Augustin survived Katrina… he is mentally tough and a really hard worker. I think KP took a shine to him.
Now watch draft day happen and my predictions be completely wrong. It was worth a shot.

That makes sense
He’s got to move and consolidate those second round picks.

Batum is a silky smooth shooter?
When I watched the video of his shooting it looked like Joe Dumars in that he has no elevation on his jump shot. I am not sure that is going to fly for a wing player in the nba these days.
Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

I think we will trade for the #3
I just don’t think we will take Bayless. Why take Bayless when can have Mayo? Also if we get that high we could definitely make a move for at least Beasley if not a trade up for D. Rose if we’re willing to really wheel and deal. I think though that contrary to possible belief the #2 pick is attainable WITHOUT giving up one of the big 3. I also think the #2 pick plus some juice could be enough to get the #1.
Regardless I agree KP is targeting the #3 pick. He can go ANYWHERE from there including trading down for Augstin (boo BOO) or some other 4-10 player and Pritchslapping his way down.
