Nice One
I love you Ben. Not in a stalk you sort of way. Mostly because I cannot afford too. It’s more of a, “Man, I love you man.” Kind of way.

PS
In a costarring role as the cause of the disappearance, let’s not forget the C’s defense and Paul Pierce especially. Blazer’s Edge Honor Paul Pierce week? He’s going to get his number retired.

I'm kinda scared of Boston now...
That was utter domination. I don’t think you can lay the entire blame on the Lakers for how much they sucked… I think you can give at least half of it to the Celtic D and their crowd.

Don't worry
Doc doesn’t coach the D. I’m pretty sure the coach of the D will get a real job and the Celtics will suck.

They'll probably still have
Garnett, Rondo, Pierce, Allen and Posey though. Those five really started to play great D together. I’m not sure they need a coach. Heck, I’m not sure Doc knows how to coach offense either.

Kevin McHale needs to get his jersey retired in Boston again
Most Valuable General Manager. Drafting Kevin Garnett, then passing him on to Boston when they couldn’t get it done in Minny. At least he needs to get a special championship ring. Without him KG could never have sobbed and screamed “I GOT MY OWN!”
Coach, I promise I wasn't running hard ...

I hate that franchise, and hate kg. Punk is overly emotional. Only person on that team that deserves it is pp. He was loyal through all the bad times.

I agree
MJ’s not as good but he had a better coach to get him over the hump.

If that’s what the Western Conference Champions look like, I’m not scared of anybody next year. A trip to the Finals seems that much more doable now.

My Dreams are Dashed
I had a dream. Of the Blazers beating the Lakers, taking away from our enemy the chance to repeat. And that event blowing up the Lakers, the Kobester goping absolutely ballistic. And the Lakers not recovering for a decade.
Payback, bitch.
Instead, I’ll have to settle for the Blazers. Beating the Lakers in the playoffs. Every year. And denying them the opportunity to EVER get that close again.
War Boston for piling on.
War end times—Danny Ainge pulling it out of the fire is a sure sign.
I’m Out!

I wouldn't get too cocky...
Thing is, I don’t think the c’s won necessarily because they were a superior team, I think the problem was that LA had matchup problems at the 3 and 4/5. Gasol was too soft to dominate against perkins or garnett, and Paul pierce is one 3 that can defend Kobe because of his size advantage, and can take advantage of that matchup on offense as well. Now, if we put the blazers in the c’s shoes, the first thing is that we no longer have a lockdown defender at the 3. Martell is the perfect guy to be our Paul Pierce, except he’s nowhere near as consistent or experienced. At the 4/5, we have issues because aldridge, although talented, is not as intimidating defensively as garnett, nor has he shown the strength. Oden is a wild card, but he should be able to cause problems. We aren’t in the clear as far as getting through the west, but this series is comforting in one sense. The lakers, including Kobe, don’t have the killer instinct anymore. That should be a relief.

I dunno man
If you win a series four games to two and cap your victory by absolutely annihilating your opponent, who mailed it in for the mustest of must-win games, I don’t think that leaves much doubt that the Celtics are the superior team.
Nor do I buy this argument (and I haven’t just heard it from you) that all of the sudden the Lkers have been exposed as frauds or that they don’t have the killer instinct anymore. First of all, when *did they have the killer instinct? It’s not like they’ve been winning championships for years and suddenly we’ve glimpsed a crack in their armor; the Lkers are an ascendant team that fell short, not an accomplished team that’s been defanged.
Bynum’s emergence - assuming he returns healthy - the addition of Gasol, and the development of Farmar and Viujidjcjcic means that the Lkers are just getting started. You don’t think a healthy Bynum teamed up with Gasol, after the latter’s had more time to acclimate to the system and to his teammates, is gonna wreak havoc next year? Or that the experience of playing under the bright lights and on the big stage isn’t gonna do wonders for those two guys plus Odom, Farmar, and the other young guys without Finals experience?
I hate the L*kers. But dismissing them because of this series is foolhardiness in my opinion.

All I can say was that watching the game last night...
... was one of the most enjoyable experiences of the season. I loved seeing LA gutted like that.
The other thought I had was about the probability of Portland developing into a team that does that to first rate opponents. I think the probility is high. Imagine Greg Oden roaming the paint, not like Perkins or Garnett, but like Bill Russell. Only he should have a better offensive game. And don’t compare LaMarcus to Garnett. Imagine him with a game more like RaSheed Wallace, only without the tendancy to disappear or take himself out of the game. Don’t compare Martell to Pierce. Try Brandon.
If you look at Steve the Hedge’s analysis, it appears the one thing Portland probably needs to improve the most in, it’s perimeter defense. Even if Webster, Outlaw or James Jones do not develop into upper tier defenders, finding a 6-6 to 6-8 swingman who can defend and hit open jumpers is maybe the easiest thing to do in the NBA.
One last thought. Portland matched up fairly well this year in head to head competition against the Lakers. It is not too far out of the realm of possibility to imagine Portland dismantling the Lakers like that in a Western Conferance Finals matchuip in the near future.

Remember New Orleans?
With all the hype about the Leakers and the Spurts at the top in the West and the Blazers the up-and-comer, all the common-tators seem to have forgotten about that team from the Big Easy. They are the team of the future.

Hmm, I see them as the new Kings
Good regular season record, just don’t got the goods to get over the hump.
Who on the team is gonna improve, aside from Julian Wright? And while he is good I don’t think he is a star—just a star role player (and I like him).
Chris Paul is AMAZING, and West has proven to be great, but they are still a two man affair with a decent big man defender in Chandler. Their bench is weak, the GM routinely drafts poorly (aside from Paul and Wright), and they have no real post game. It is a testament to Paul’s amazingness that their record improved so much and they made it to the second round.
Still, for all the hype they had DURING the playoffs, they were still just a team that got kicked out of the second round. They aren’t terribly young, but will be good for a long while if they team stays as it is and they get a 3 point shooter to replace Peja (he can’t stay as durable as he was this past season).
With Paul, West, and Chandler, they got a good base to build around. But Chandlers Pryzbilla-esque offensive game and West’s mostly perimeter offensive game will hurt them every year in the playoffs.
If Paul ever wins a title, he’ll be the first ‘best PG in the league” to win a title since Isiah. It’s pretty rare, when compared to ‘best big men’ led teams. I think Magic’s size made him an exception, and with Kareem and Worthy he had more talent than Paul or Isiah around him.
But don’t get me wrong, the Hornets will be good for a long time. I like how we handled them just fine this season, and I think we’ll do even better-er for our entire 12 years of contending. Best Big Man (Oden) always beats Best PG (Paul).

Very tough to defend in the regular season, but you only have to focus on one guy in the playoffs.
