And with the 29th pick...

Of the 2008 NBA draft the Detroit Pistons select JJ Hickson, North Carolina State University.

We're live with ESPN's brilliant Insider, Chad Ford, from Bristol. Chad, what's the rumor on this latest pick by the Pistons?

CF: It appears that the Pistons were making this pick for the Portland TrailBlazers, part of a larger trade that will involve the #13 pick, DJ Augustin of Texas, as well as Travis Outlaw and Joel Pryzbilla who will be going to the Motor City in exchange for Tayshaun Prince and pick just made, which turned out to be NC State's JJ Hickson. Certainly a surprise, as myself and most of my colleagues thought that Joe Dumars was in a 'win now' mode. But perhaps the thinking over there is that with a tough defensive minded center, an athletic swingman and a promising PG prospect were giving up one of the NBA's most underrated players. I know Portland has inquired about Tayshaun Prince for quite some time, and after Joe Dumars made every Piston available and one of the players in the draft that they coveted (along with Eric Gordon) fell to the #13 spot the dominoes were set in motion.

Ok, thank you Chad Ford, incedible stuff as always. And now we go to commissioner Stern for the Celtics pick, still smarting from their 7 game Finals loss.
