Which player should the Blazers trade? Or keep them both? Or trade them both?
They are in very similar situations. Both SF that have enormous amounts of potential, but they are often considered under-achieving. They both have shown their ability to score (See Marty's 24 points in one quarter and Outlaw's game winners against Atlanta and Memphis). I think that one of these two players needs to develop into a starter and a scoring threat and that James Jones is a great backup for either player. It seems having both creates a "log-jam".
A look at the numbers:
Outlaw: 26.7 MPG .433 FG% .396 3P% 4.6 RPG .741 FT% 1.3 TO 13.3 PPG
Wester: 28.3 MPG .422 FG% .388 3P% 3.9 RPG .735 FT% 1.1 TO 10.7 PPG
I like Outlaw. I think that this was a huge break-out year for him. Not only did his numbers improve, he showed us how clutch he is. He is not very consistent yet, but then neither is Marty. It seems that Trout has more trade value, but I would not like to see him part with our Blazers.
What do you think?
