We can get Hinrich for #13 and Jack.

Ok I know that this topic has been in here for a long time. The deal for Hinrich. If Chicago Bulls select Derick Rose, then we could trade for Hinrich. I know that annthefan dont want to give up Outlaw(#25). And Some people dont want to give up Marty either. I been on realGM Bulls site, and they know that we want to trade our pick, and are willing to give us Hinrich for our 13 pick and Jack. Thats strange that they would value him so low. Another proposal was to trade Ben Gordon to us for Our #13 pick. Also They would trade Hinrich and Nocioni for Blazers 13 pick and Lafrentze. I think that they are too over excited. I remember when we got the #1 pick last year we were happy to trade Z-Bo, what looked like for nothing at that time. But now we have Frye, Rudy, and JJ. I think that they want to unload contracts to run at Lebron James. It was funny reading their comments, some of them think that they wont get any better offer for Hinrich than our 13 pick and Jack. What do you guys think should we trade our 13 and Jack for Hinrich? I think we will have to add another player so the salaries would work. But I think its worth it. Lets do it now since they are high on their #1 pick.

I don't think the contracts work out

but I’m not entirely sure.

I really like the idea of getting a pg upgrade at low cost and it does makes sense that there would be very few offers for Hinrich (limited cap space around the league, he had a bad year).

However, there is a reason that the Bulls don’t want Hinrich besides being able to draft Rose. He’s got a pretty big contract for an average player, and if last year’s stuggles are what can be expected next year, then he’s a below average player with a big contract.

I don’t see Hinrich as the piece that puts us over the top, but his contract might prevent that move from happening in the future.

And slightly tangential to this scenario….I feel that a trade that leads to a net decrease in roster size is actually perferable (depending on the exact players we’d be losing) to a scenario such as this because of the minute crunch.

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

Your post title should start with the word "maybe"

What guys at the RealGM Bulls site would do and what John Paxon would do aren’t necessarily the same. As for the trade itself, I guess what KP would need to determine is whether Hinrich’s lack of progress has been due to injury or not, and whether the injury(s) are behind him now.

I'm so not down with this trade

Or Hinrich in particular. If we were gonna be over the salary cap, etc. already, then I might consider it. But right now we have the pieces for a much better player than Hinrich.

We shouldn’t just get a PG because we can, whoever we get should be able to fit with what we’re doing and I don’t think Kirk is all that much better than Blake; especially if he doesn’t bounce back from last year. Then what? We’ve got two guys with the same skill set and we still don’t have what we need.

I’d be open to the right vet but I’m starting to think that we might just be able to better in the draft than we will in a trade. Plus you know KP loves to play the draft and he’s already been so successful…

Hinrich=too expensive

especially after the year he had.

To work within

the CBA guidelines, the trade would have to be Lafrentz, Jack, and the 13th to match Hinrich’s salary.

The trouble with that is that Hinrich is BYC till July 1st. That’s after the draft. Now that wouldn’t be a big problem, but the fact that Hinrich’s salary drops from 11 million to 10 million July 1st, while Lafrentz’s and Jack’s salary increase would be a problem. The Bulls would have to add some filler to the deal.

Don't really want Heinrich

But getting rid of JJ is tempting…

If you don't like Jack

just wait a year. His rookie deal is up after 09

"What some Bulls fans want !

That should be the title of this post. It’s a garbage thread,
as it’s speculation/hope from FANS. It means nothing.
I wouldn’t make that trade, as the salaries don’t match
and Hinrich isn’t much better than Blake. Blake is steady
and part of a great chemistry, which is more important than
taking on more salary and potential disruptions. Don’t mess
with the brew; Draft Westbrook and a banger/O rebounder.
Stash Sergio and others in the D league.

It's GO time !

I only wrote it here

because there were Blazers fans that want him, and they were willing to give up Outlaw or Webby. By the way most of post here are speculation/hope, but its not garbage. And if its garbage post to you, why leave your comments in the garbage?

Feel free to disagree, Walkoff.

But this site is unique in it’s civil tenor. Stay respectful here, please.

Enh.

No thanks on Captain Kirk. He’s not that much better than Blake. Basically what walkoff said, without the garbage.

in my opinion

I dont really want Hinrich or Calderon. I think we should wait for our cap space. I like Jack because he is agresive and can take it to the basket. I think if he can develope more during the next season he can be very good for the Blazers.

Colonel Rondo and his second round armada?

If Boston is determine to rebuild and cut salary isn’t two mid lotto pics and the right salary filler decent. Maybe not enough but better than what most teams get in that situation. I would prefer that over the Chris Paul package.

I hope and figure that the Trail Blazers could have the best of both worlds. I’ve never seen a more bountiful 2nd round. Its conceivable that the team could deal both lotto picks and still find some nice players in the draft. Players like Orlando Johnson, Lucas Nogueira, Kevin Jones, Will Barton are 1st rounders in most drafts even if its just based on hype and potential. Then you have some possible gems in such a deep draft like Machado, a couple guys that I personally like from Georgetown-their center Henry Sims and forward Hollis Tompson. Both high upside players that I would love to watch in the summer league. If PA were to ever buy into or trade into late first or second round now is the time. Give me Freeland, Diebler and four second rounders in the summer league with Rondo coaching.
