Is it possible to go through basketball withdrawl while the playoffs are in progress? Here I am, trying to find a nugget of new Blazer-ness to slake my addiction and I'm coming up dry. I've already done the mock drafts, but there just isn't any appeal this year. Nothing will seem real until Oden takes the court. Until that moment, the last year would have been a dream.
In an effort to bring myself under control I've tried to immerse myself in the trade machine geek-ness, but I couldn't find anyone that was realistically available and attainable. Sure making that LeBron for scraps trade was neat, but my addiction blew through that roadblock after 20 seconds. It's not even June for crying-out-loud. I can't be this messed up already.
I broke out the DVR of the 2007 draft lottery , and that helped for a few minutes. Until Jon Barry started saying we should trade the pick. Thank you Michael Wilbon for putting him in his place. Hey, can we still get Dwane Casey to replace Bayno?
If you haven't already realized from my semi-intelligent ramblings, I'm half way through a pitcher of margaritas. There's just something about buzzed-blogging that makes me feel loopy. Did I mention I make some damn fine cocktails? Well I do. Where was I? Oh yea, ramblings.
I'd like to take a moment to thank Winchester for his Minute Crunch post. I do believe that was the first time I've seen a pie chart used to clarify a point on this site. Bonus points for creativity. It brought to my mind the problem of having too much young talent. At some point there's just so many young players that you can't properly develop the talent (Obvious I know, but I'm drunk so cut me some slack). Personally, I hope that Nate actually pulls the rotation down to nine or eight players. KP can take care of the extra players, but it's time to start playing the guys who're going the take you to where you're headed. By the end of the season, you'll know which ones can handle the heat, and which ones can't. Until then, trade for some veteran role players that can follow and compliment rather than lead.
Oh crud, the wife side-tracked me and my buzz is wearing off. Side question: When you're sick, you're supposed to drink plenty of liquids. Does that include margaritas? It really should. Did I mention I make a mean cocktail? Well, I do. Where was I? Oh, still rambling? Dang, I talk too much when I'm drunk. Or is that TYPE too much? Ha, I'm funny. Blogging humor rocks!
Gotta fix dinner, so I'll close with these few words:
I miss fatty and clyde webster will never be the one GO forever book it.
