Hinrich
Do the Bulls take Rose? If they do, does that make Hinrich available? Is that someone we want?
I know almost nothing about the guy except that he's on Chicago's roster, he's pretty good, Pippen called him a midget, he's supposedly better than Blake. Personally, I don't think we need him and hope we wait, but I'm assuming he's going to attain Calderonesque status around here. So, let's get to know him.

nah
let’s not setlle – I have faith KP will work a miracle and land Calderon!

What's miraculous about Calderon?
I think the Blazers’ biggest single deficiency is perimeter defense. I haven’t watched him that much, but I’m dubious that Calderon is the answer defensively. Westbrook, on the other hand, was Pac 10 defender of the year. Or so I heard… Plus he can run a fast break and finish.

Probably the same thing that's miraculous about Westbrook.
ie the irrational love that makes people think each is exactly what the team needs.

Oh no.
You beat me to the punch. I think Hinrich’s STATS speak for themself. On the right team he could be amazing.

Dude,
did you delete your post. I know it was pretty much the same, but yours was quite a bit better. If you still have it somewhere, could you repost it. Those stats were helpful.

Heinrich
The guy makes a LOT of money for a long time, so we might be able to save the Bulls some serious coin with a Raef for Heinrich type of deal. We’d have to be compensated somehow for losing much of our 2009 cap space.
Suspect we’ll ride it out, see if Rudy is any good, then try to pry away a PG next summer if Roy isn’t the guy.

we actually wouldnt lose any of it
Now that Miles has medically retired, we would essentially just swap Hinrich for Miles salary-wise and still have a lot of room next summer…

But why?
But why would we want to pay Heinrich 8-10 million a year? For 11 and 6? We got 8 and 5 from Blake last year for less than half the money.

Like the Engineer said...
He’s making 38.5 million over the next 4 seasons. I don’t think we’ll be bringing him in.
by D-Train on May 20, 2008 6:02 PM PDT 0 recs
Do it
I’d go for Hinrich…....he needs a fresh start. Rose is from Chi-town, he’s a good fit. They need a post scorer, but Beasley is a bit of a tweener. I think he should play the 3.

Wow
Blog a Bull is going pro Rose, which seems amazing to me as they Beasley seems to bring what they need in the way of post scoring and some rebounding. He needs to put on weight, but he would seem to be the ideal fit for that team.

the Bulls need any kind of star player
someone to attack and demand attention from a defense, someone to be the leader of the team. A PG can do that too, if he’s really good.
The Bulls roster, including Hinrich, can be much better if they had someone so good that it takes the pressure off them collectively.
I think they can keep everyone, and Hinrich would be a great 6th man (start Gordon) who could back up either guard spot. But he’s also at least better than half the starting PGs in the league, and is paid like one too. He’s also the oldest of this ‘core’ of players. So all those things considered he’d be the first to go. (if Gordon’s salary demands are to outrageous, that changes things)
It’s a risk to acquire him. He had his best season two years ago. If you get that guy, he can be a PG on a great team, as long as he’s not asked to be a top option. The problem with his tenure with the Bulls (exacerbated by his awful year last year) is that they have a whole team of guys who shouldn’t be asked to be top options, nor ask to be locker room leaders as well. Hopefully Rose can change all that.

Chicgo will take Beasley!
They need a scorer at PF. That’s their weakest spot.

I tried to join blog a bull and see if they wanted to trade some stuff
And you have to wait one freaking day before you can start posting stuff. Totally lame.

why don’t they all just send letters to each other and drink tea. It’s the freaking internet. Maybe send them a smoke signal if you get the chance.

I'm not the biggest Hinrich fan....
He tends to be a bit streaky, and I think he is over paid. I might be tempted if we could get Luol Deng with him too. It will be interesting to see what players from Chicago stay and go, considering there will be a new coaching staff. Who knows what kind of philosophy Chicago will have. Also, I have no idea what the salaries would be and what we’d have to give up, but Deng would be a solid veteran addition to the Blazers.

I honestly think that Hinrich can be had for very cheap if they take Rose...
A deal that sends Raef, Jack, and our 13 for Hinrich + filler would work for me, and I believe it would be enough to make Paxon bite. Chicago gets out of a big contract at pg, which is surely Roses spot. They also get a backup pg and combo guard in Jack along with a 2nd lottery pick in this years draft. I am not so sure that they wouldnt do it for just Jack and Raef in order to get away from HInrich’s contract.
If the bulls are smart they would set up their salary cap so they can offer a max contract in the 2010 summer. Lebron James and Dwayne Wade’s contracts will be up and there is a good chance they will want a change of scenery. I bet D Wade wouldnt mind going home to chicago to play alongside Rose. They should start stockpiling picks and young players and letting a couple of older players go, ::cough::, Ben Gordan. I would sign Deng and start to build around a nucleus of Rose, Deng, Noah, and Thomas by getting rookie contracts and staying flexible through 2010. Hughes will be servicable until then and his contract will expire that summer. They could even be under the cap next season if they wanted to. Follow the KP blueprint Chicago, but mostly because I want to get Hinrich on the cheap…

Oh yeah
Raef could be that scoring Power Forward Chicago has been lacking for the past several years…...............hahahahahahahahahahaha.
I wonder if Chicago would even consider trading down to the #2 spot. Quite frankly, Beasley or Rose would be a great pick-up for them. By trading down, Chicago could get a player and/or future draft picks back in return. Maybe they get Haslem who can somewhat fill in that need for a Power Forward, and be able to get Rose with the 2nd pick. Or they could pick up someone or something else from Miami, and end up with Beasley as well. It will be interesting to see what happens.
The last thing Chicago would want is Jarrett Jack. They already have about 4 of him on their roster right now.

I doubt it.
Unless they trade down to the second pick so Miami can have Rose.
