Make Your Case
For the sake of discussion, let's pretend for a moment that I'm the General Manager from another team... And let's pretend I'm not Isiah Thomas stupid. Here's your chance to argue why I should consider one of your players for a trade.
We've already gone over a number of trade scenarios, so I'm not looking for specific trades. What I want is to know why you think a particular player is worth my time to consider. What talents do they possess to spark my imagination? Even more importantly, what talents do they NOT have that makes you so eager to get me to look at them?
If you've ever purchased a used car, one of the first things through your mind is, "why is this guy getting rid of this?". I think that would be a fair question for any GM looking to trade a player. Is he just looking to get rid of someone who doesn't quite fit his plans, or is this player a lost cause he's looking to dump on someone else?
So here you go: Sell me on the player of your choice. Jarrett Jack isn't working out for you; why would he do better for me? Channing Frye is a buffet of goodness; why are you so hungry to dump him? Martell Webster is a sharpshooter just waiting to break out; why do you need to take a break from him?

Easy...
Raef LaFrentz makes a great bacon wrapped sirloin that all the players love… Oh and he has a 14 million dollar contract coming of the books in a year…
Josh McRoberts is not only a talented young player from a University that breeds basketball, he’s also doubled as Justin Timberlake’s dance oriented stunt man…
Von Wafer is the only thing to ever make Chuck Norris cry…

I think Mcbob
Kinda looks like one of the dudes from Peter Bjorn and John. In fact, I am pretty sure he’s both of them.

Mortimer, get back to the keyboard
That post was about 500 words short for you.

No kidding
I’ve made like 20 short posts today. Totally not in character for me. Either I just don’t got much to say, or I’m subconsciously trying to limit the length of my posts. I think I’m just boring and got nuthin’ to say, maybe forever more.
The truth? McBob does look like Peter Bjorn and John. It was proven by SCIENCE.

SOLD!
Mostly that first one… I’m hungry.
Seriously though, that second point is the best, but whose contract do you swallow in return?

Mike Miller...
Mike Miller is still available in Memphis…
The Wizards might have trouble re-signing both Antawn Jamison and Gilbert Arenas in the same off-season…
The Sonics still have Chris Wilcox and Luke Ridnour…
New York has Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson, David Lee, Renaldo Balkman, Wilson Chandler, and a few other corpses…
Miami (if they land in the top 2) will no longer need either Udonis Haslem or J-Williams… Shawn Marion actually might be available if we gave the Heat some of our perimeter shooting. Daequan Cook, maybe as a throw-in?
Kevin Martin?
Ben Gordon? Luol Deng? Baron Davis?

Only one(s) who would be useful to us
Is the PFs, David Lee and Udonis Haslem. Balkman would likely be a good hustle guy, but he needs a damn haircut. He could jump 3 inches higher, run faster if he’d thin out the mop.
Kevin Martin ain’t gettable for anyone short of the big 3. He’s still really underrated, and really young. An extremely efficient scorer.
Luol Deng was supposed to break out this year and didn’t, and he wants over 10 million a year. If he wasn’t so injury prone thus far, I’d love him. Everyone else is stinky sneezes, for our needs… not that all are bad players, we just don’t want a volume dude like Gilbert Arenas, for example.

You forget
That McRobert’s mom makes an awesome macaroni salad, so he’s got that going for him as well.

That's all well and good...
But I was looking for your arguments about why other GMs should consider OUR players.
Perhaps I should brings this topic up on another non-draft-lottery day.
