Aldridge to Dallas???
Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I stumbled across this and it's a bit disturbing.
http://mavsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/05/mavs-exec-talks-to-portland-star.html
We all know that Aldridge is from Dallas, and I'm sure he woudn't mind playing for his hometown team. I don't think he's a big fan of the city of Portland, from what I've heard, but he doesn't hate it either. I think he'll stay here for a while for sure, mostly because we will be an elite powerhouse, but this leads me to my follow-up question: Which of the Blazers Big-3 is most likely to leave down the road?
I'd say Aldridge has the best chance, followed by Oden because he's already complained about Portland a few times, and Roy as a distant third, considering he's from the area.
Will Aldridge get tired of playing 3rd fiddle? Will Oden was to go to a bigger market to get more exposure? Will Roy want out for some reason?
It's something that has been in the back of my mind for a while now. I just want to hear some of your thoughts.

Maybe there will be enough injuries,
that they all have their own time to shine! Yay injuries!

I loved this response
“Our owner is richer than your owner.
Neener.”
Here's to being hated. Come on #1 pick!

Oden hasn't complained about Portland
He complained about Tualatin. BIG DIFFERENCE. If you were 19 years old and stuck in Tualatin, you’d be bored too. That’s why he already said he’s selling that house and moving Downtown. He’s not going to be bored once he moves. Plus he stated on his blog that Portland is “his city”.

Do you know what does it means "dejar alguien en la estacada"?
“to leave sb in the lurch” (literally woul be “to leave sb in the fence”).

That's pretty funny
I don’t know how familiar you are with Portland, but there’s a (locally) infamous burb southwest of town known as Estacada, OR. As you point out, the name of the town comes from Spanish; a good English translation is “stockade” (the word “stockade” in English comes from the Spanish word estacada, in fact).
The word “stockade” in English nowadays commonly refers to a military prison… which is an apt description of Estacada, a former lumber town whose economy is nowadays driven by river-rafting tourists and meth. :) There used to be a restaurant there called the Safari Club which contains dozens of stuffed dead animals shot by some hunter; it’s now closed, unfortunately.

Nice explanation, it was almost a tourist tour in my mind. Thanks.
I´ve never been in USA. The nearest i was it was the Mexican Riviera Maya, Cuba and Dominican Republic.

Much ado about nothing.
I too would prefer a job close to home (i.e Portland, rather than Seattle). But my employment and earning opportuinities are greater up here. So I get home only on weekends. The same holds true for athletes. Locale can play a role (as it did for Blake and Pryz), but opportunity and earnings probably have more influence.
Besides, how do you know Aldridge doesn’t particularly like Portland?

I had a similar poll a while back.
I think that all three will sign their second contracts with the blazers, but after that I think LMA is the most likely to leave.

I voted None
I’d actually say that Oden would be more likely to leave than Aldridge – but I don’t see any of the Big 3 leaving anytime soon.

I voted "none" also
As “Blazer Wookie” posted at that site, “Our owner is richer than your owner. Neener.” That says it all; even if one of the Blazers’ Big 3 inexplicably decided to leave the best situation imaginable, Paul Allen wouldn’t let it happen.
As for LMA’s apparent man crush on Dirk, he’ll outgrow it. Coming up in Texas, LMA patterned his game after Dirk’s. But while Dirk’s outside shooting ability is truly remarkable, LMA will soon be the better all-around player. He just doesn’t realize that yet, I guess.

look at it this way
when overblown Mark Cuban doesnt get his way, wholesale changes are in order. Lamarcus may or may not last a season or two under Cuban’s commodity based mentality and search for the NBA grail (which he will never find.) Paul Allen is building a pyramid in Portland of which one Lamarcus is anchor stoning. Besides isnt Mark Cuban just too arrogant and smug to want to play for, much less trust?

I'm not worried about this
LMA is one of those players who will add to his game every summer. I think he will average 20 pts plus for his 12 years with the PTB’s. He likes his teammates and we should have a winning team…. that is enough to overcome a little homesickness.

not happening...
unless we want him (or any of them) gone.
We’ve got the pedigree to run the league for years dynasty style, we’ve got an owner who will pay bookoo, and we have the best fans in the league who will basically worship this trio of young men.
Also, the Texas Trio are all summitting and will likely go on a little bit of a downward ride for who knows how long. Who knows how bad it actually gets, but no one likes to play for a loser.
This is the same reasoning behind why we’ll NEVER get Chris Paul.
Blake brings it up on the right, swings it to Webster on the elbow, he moves around the key and passes to the low left block for Aldridge, Aldridge jukes baseline, turns back in and finds Roy cutting down the seam, ROY THROWS IT UP AT THE RIM FOR ODEN WHO THROWS IT DOWN FOR THE TWO HANDED MONSTER JAM!!! Going home
We should also note that, while it seems like a fun idea to play for your hometown team, it’s also a crushing burden. Many players like the idea of being “away” from home for half the year.

Nobody is leaving.
Most players barely dont get a chance to play on championship caliber teams, let alone a dynasty caliber team. As long as nobody gets a big head, they will all stay…
