Rookie sophmore game
Next year i think that the rookies will finally be able to beat the sophmores. or at least get very close to doing so.
Rose- Bayless
Gordon- Mayo
Fernandez- Gallinari- Greene
Beasley- lopez- Randolph
Oden- Jorden
Vs.
Conley- Stuckey
Durant - Navaro
Thadeus Young- Thorton- Moon
Scola-Landry
Horford- Noah
The rooks will have more impact players, rebound size advatage with horford being kind of small for a center. Anyway Oden already dominated Horford and Noah in the title game. It looks to me that besides horford and durant the the rookies are a higher caliber team (Rose, Beasly, Oden, mayo?, and hopefully fernandez) but they are still rookies and inexperienced... what are your thoughts.
And the rosters are just estemates. I put rudy in at sf here because they are weak at sf and didnt have other better options.

You make a great point...
I emphatically agree… by the all-star break, those rookies will be great.
If Oden stays healthy, he’ll win rookie of the year;
Considering that scoring is usually the determinative
Rudy has a better chance than Greg of ROY. In practice the two will split enough votes that someone else may prevail.
Aldridge said. "We feel like we can beat any team. We feel like we can beat the Spurs, Suns, Lakers, Mavericks, whoever any night right now, and we'll still be here when those teams get old and their guys retire. We're going to be here for a long time."
Amare soudemire didnt score much
13 pts. 8 reb .95 ast 1 blk . .47 fg% .66 ft% 2.3 TO,
i imagine oden could do something like that, or better, and he would be on a contender

I'm so sick of Oden's offense
being so grossly underrated by people, even Blazer fans. Oden is much better offensively than most people think. Ohio States offense wasn’t based on going into Oden, and they didn’t have good entry passers, yet he still managed 16 ppg. If you look at Odens Freshman year compared to Shaq’s, Hakeem’s, D.Rob’s, Alonzo’s and Duncan’s, he scored significantly higher than all of them, and had even stats in all the rest of the categories in only 28 minutes with ONE HAND. There’s no reason Oden can’t come in and score 12-15 ppg right away if we feed him the ball. I think once he gains more confidence his offense will suprise a lot of people, and he will probably finish the season with a lot of 20/10 games. Oh, and the rookie of the year trophy.
Oden+Roy+Aldridge+Rudy=Dynasty. Believe
...And BTW,
I think people’s expectations for Rudy are waaaay too high for now. I think he’s going to struggle more in his rookie season than most people expect. I mena, they’re expecting 16-18 ppg from him in his 1st year. C’mon, be realistic here. He’s 6’6”, 175 soaking wet. It’s going to take im some time.
Oden+Roy+Aldridge+Rudy=Dynasty. Believe
Hey!
That’s what I say too, dammit!
Oden’s freshman year compared to the ‘all time greats’ is a very good sign that he’ll be fine offensively… on the raw side, sure, but he won’t struggle to score and should at LEAST be able to turn and dunk like Dwight Howard still does. And if ya asks me, Oden’s got a softer touch already and that’s HUGE for being a good post scorer.
Now if Rudy even scored 10ppg, we should be ecstatic. 9ppg is a TERRIFIC sign for the future. If he challenges for ROY, than either everyone else really, really sucks or Rudy is Jesus. I think he’ll become good after a year or two of adjusting, with some great games that reveal his potential along the way. We hope he won’t be useless on defense. But Rookie of da Year? That’s just setting yourself up for disappointment.
Manu scored 7ppg his rookie year, and he was several years older than Rudy will be next season. It’s a tough transition period from Euro to NBA, and to expect Rudy to be the Rudy we see in the highlight reels as a ROOKIE is probably unlikely. Eventually, sure, he’ll look like all of that. He’s gotta become comfortable and learn how to play his game with the most athletic people in the world trying to stop him.
I’m as excited as anyone to see what Rudy can do, but all rookies deserve some time to learn the league, especially if they aren’t built like Greg Oden.
I’m more fine with underrating Oden’s game, because than you’ll be happily surprised, than I am overvaluing Rudy’s impact next season, because you’ll just think something is wrong with Rudy when there isn’t.
Better to hope for poop under the X-mas tree instead of a new bike, that way on X-mas morning you can run downstairs and open the biggest present there is waiting for you and say ‘YAY NEW POOP’ and instead it’s a new bike! And then you can ride the bike around the living room and be happy that you kept your expectations in check.

Oden's offense
I wonder how accurate it is to compare Oden’s freshman year so much to those other Hall-of-Famers. I would guess that they were playing against a slightly higher caliber of opponent, since not as many really good players (or big men at least) left for the NBA after their first or second year of college.
He will have plenty of compotition
it will not be as easy as the last two years with durant and roy, oden has rose and beasley to contend with.
Three Blazers on the Rookie Team!
Rose, Rudy and Oden!

I smell what you're cookin'
Hello, I am tominhawaii, think of me as the irritating tobacco ads of Blazer's Edge.
I wonder what would happen if everybody on the planet at the same time
Willed the Blazers to get the number one pick again. Time to send out some emails.

It would probably give everyone a headache.
And Golden State would end up with it. Irony has a sense of humor that way. The power of positive thinking has yet to achieve world peace or win me even a hundred bucks at the lottery. Vegas makes billions thanks to the power of positive thinking against the house.
But the Blazers winning the #1 pick is not about positive thinking, appeasing the basketball gods, or anything that we could possibly do. It just is. Nothing required. See the whole argument here.

Go Rookies
Jorden will not be in the rookie game though. I think he will either be a bust or take a 4-5 years to develop.
If it fills a need, if it fills a rebuilding situation. And my goal is to fill and rebuild and I am not going to be shortsighted.

Rooks run away w/ it
Oden will posterize Durant in the game also.
Sometimes I feel like I'm going in different directions...
Oden=Rookie?
Are we sure that Oden will be called a rookie when he was on an NBA roster last year? Or is this like baseball where you need a certain number of plate appearances before you burn your rookie year?
Greg did not play in a game this year.
He is a rookie next year. Big truth.
