Summer League Update
OK, let's talk...
Yesterday I posted the reasons why this year, for the first time in a while, I couldn't go to the Vegas Summer League to provide coverage. Basically it boiled down to the ad market bottoming out for individual online sites and my family (thanks to Baby Point Guard) having cut down to one income. Some folks asked about taking a collection but the idea of coming up with enough to cover the trip seemed far-fetched and I didn't want to disappoint any good souls who would donate if it didn't work out.
Last night I got an e-mail from a reader who basically wouldn't take "no" for an answer. He so much wouldn't take "no" for an answer that he has sent a donation that almost makes me feel embarrassed. It's not in "covering the whole trip" territory but it's close enough to where I could say if there are a couple more of you who would like to help sponsor the trip, plus what I can add in, this is possible. The donor wants to remain anonymous, but let me say here that I have not really seen anything like this, especially online, and I am humbled.
For any who might be wondering about the legitimacy of the offer, it's legit. This person has a track record with us. For those of you who want to help (or any who might be interested, even if it's just sponsoring a gallon or two of gas), e-mail me and I'll give you info about how to do that. Compared to the size of the donation already made, we're not terribly far from making this happen.
It appears Blazersedge will be providing coverage from Summer League after all, thanks to its readers. I am speechless. Thank you.

Agreed
Vidio is nice, and now that is has been mentioned, you just couldn’t disapoint. Please tell me you have a didgital camcorder, or i will have to finally give in and go buy one. But I get to keep all the footage, you can have copies.

how would we give you the money?
I won 500 bucks playing poker in the casino yesterday.
If I don’t lose the winnings tonight I’d be willing to contribute.

Nice!
Back to Freemont Street. Just yesterday I found a chip from the Golden Nugget that’s burning a whole in my pocket.

Don't let Dave
Gamble away his kid’s college/NBA training fund.

But wait!
Won’t that be for a full ride to play BB at KU? Anyway hopefully not USC, as they may still be on probation in 18 years!
Aldridge said. "We feel like we can beat any team. We feel like we can beat the Spurs, Suns, Lakers, Mavericks, whoever any night right now, and we'll still be here when those teams get old and their guys retire. We're going to be here for a long time."

Nah. Not to worry. If anything is left over from the trip, Dave can apply it to basketball camp
for Baby Point Guard when he begins to walk. Never too early to start training.

Hope it works out for you, Dave
It would be great for you to be able to attend the Summer League. I live in Vegas and will be attending as many games as I can. Look for an email from me.
Thanks to the anonymous donor and to all those others who have offered to contribute to this worthy cause!

there's a good reason for donating...
Blazersedge.com will lose its own edge for being there in most or all blazers events!! summer league is a league not to miss!!

That's Awsome, Thanks Donater Guy or Gal
If you folks want, you can pretend it was me. I sold my HDTV to send Dave, and as a thank you, he bought me NBA League Pass. I can watch it next year, on a four inch television.
No wait, I cut off my mullet and sold it to TMZ by telling them it was Britney Spears’ glory trail. To thank me Dave bought me one of those hair picks with a black power fist as the handle.
No matter how you look at it, there is a lesson to be learned. Blazers Edge has some incredible fans.
Oh where oh were could my Jscot be
The cops took him away from me
He's gone to prison so I've got to be good
So I can see my Jscot when I'll leave this blog

People who donate are the greatest.
Anonymous donors are even better. They forsake their own personal glory, but as a result, the focus is on the goal rather than them. Still, anonymous donor, you have our profound thanks anyways. Without you, none of this happens.
