Highlights

Previous interview with Rudy:

Marc Gasol and Rudy Fernandez share aim, but only one will pass to next round of playoffs, the first who wins two games. They played the first game today at 20:30h (Spain time, 11:30 in Portland).

Rudy Fernandez (DKV Joventut):

" It will be complicated because they come in a great moment to this Playoff, after six consecutive victories ".

" We know enough each other after the games we have played this year and I believe that it will be tough for both teams."

" The individual awards don´t matter, only that my team wins as a whole".

" In the final of the Uleb Cup we could stop Marc Gasol, with a Jerome Moiso's great work ".

" Marc always will do good numbers, so it is necessary to avoid that he would make play his teammates".

" It would be incredible if we win all the possible titles, something few teams have done. We start as the best second team, a good position to aspire to win the league. " I agree to be the MVP of the final of the league, it will mean that my team wins the ACB title".

What? There is still

meaningful basketball to be played? I am so there. Wait, crap. I can’t watch the game. Fry’s electronics is having a huge one day sale and I need a new computer bad.

Rudy 1, Marc 0

Go DKV!

Question for Amlmart1: I know Spurs draftee Tiago Splitter is in the playoffs with Tau Ceramica. How has he done this season and how does he compare to Marc Gasol or to big men in the NBA?

Rudy's stats

19:51min

I think those are right…
oh yeah, he started off the bench, which is weird. what i want to know is: is DKV’s team that good or is their coach a really good coach? Rudy always seems to play so well even though he gets

< 30 min and the team wins all the time.

Good coach, good team players, no stars but Rudy. He is to DKV like Kobe to LA. If Rudy doesn´t play, DKV will probably lose. For sure DKV without Rudy can´t win consistently to teams like TAU, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Akasvayu and Unicaja.
Tiago Splitter played very well in the Eruoleague finals, was the best player of TAU. Maturing, promising but not yet ready for the NBA, IMO.
Nobody in ACB can compare to Marc Gasol and Rudy. Everybody is far far far away from both.
Spliter is the forth player in efficiency. You can also find his name between the best 15 players in many stats.

sounds like they are screwed next year in euroleague

if Rudy leaves. thx. i knew DKV was in euroleague last year, did they get dropped this year because they didn’t do well?

by spikex on May 16, 2008 4:45 PM PDT up reply actions

There are some changing complex rules

regarding the euroleague participation. DKV lost last year in playoffs round against Real Madrid because Rudy was injured in the fourth game (There were 5 games in all playoffs, this season there are 3 and 5 for the final) so couldn´t get a place in the euroleague, but could play Uleb Cup. The winner of Uleb Cup get a place in euroleague too, so next year DKV will play euroleague, whatever it does in ACB playoffs. Yes, they are screwed next year in euroleague, IMO. Only if Ricky does a great step ahead they could be a decent competitor in euroleague.

I think it's time to root against Rudy's team

I just hope his team never wins another game and Spain doesn’t do jack in the Olympics to conserve Rudy’s precious body.

Oh where oh were could my Jscot be
The cops took him away from me
He's gone to prison so I've got to be good
So I can see my Jscot when I'll leave this blog

Dang

I think after the Olympics, everyone in the NBA is going to be ever so envious of Portland. That stuff was off the chain; it looks like a YouTube highlight video and it’s just one game.

Hugs are free, please share.

Yeah!

I´m sure he´s suffering. Do you want to know what he said to his brother before the last game against Utah?. I´ll tel you anyway: “go out there and kick their asses (sorry), eat them!.”

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
