Tim Duncan is getting old.
Hey everyone. Im following the Spurs in the playoffs, since they are the champs, and im corious what is their succes. In the Suns series Tim Duncan was unstoppable. Shaq could not stop him, and I never saw anybody stop him. Now in New Orleans series I saw something that I never saw before; that Duncan is having problems against T. Chandler. It looks like he has trouble getting his hook shot off against Chandle's length. Chris Paul just runs allover the floor, and nobody can stop him. But im really impressed with Chandler's deffense. I never saw anybody slow down Tim this much. I dont watch alot of NBA, but when I saw Duncan play he was unstoppable. This is the first time I saw him having problems. Im wondering if we have anybody that can be that effective in stopping big men of opposing teams. What your observation on Tim having problems against the Hornets? I wish Blazers would be in the playoffs, then I would be talking about them. Now the Hornets are the most fun team to watch in the playoffs.

He's not as old as John McCain
And he’s got a way better hook shot. I bet Chandler would have no trouble stopping John McCain. Come to think of it, even decrepid old Shaq could stop John McCain. What’s the deal with McCain’s puffy jaw? For awhile he looked like a squirrel on a binge. I guess recently he had it lanced or something and all the puss came out. My daughter says that dude is really gross, with his swollen jaw and his ridiculous comb-over. Can’t say I disagree. Seems to me that when a dude wears a comb-over he’s saying to the world that he has no self-respect whatsoever. I mean, no one is even fooled by a comb-over. What is the point? I just don’t get it at all.

Nuff is Nuff
Why choose this site to expose your political views? Most here come to read about PTB first, NBA second and Basketball in general. Why would you, in good conscience, choose this forum to make fun of another human being? Especially one who has served his country with honor and respect for many, many years? Please, take this garbage to the Yahoo Political Blogs where it belongs.

This aint...
...political. Off-topic, probably inappropriate, but definitely not political. Not a big deal.
It doesn’t surprise me that Big Timmy may be slowing down a little. It is only a little though. Going up against young whippersnappers like Chandler probably magnifies the difference, too.
I am pulling for the Hornets all the way, but were the Spurs ever really ‘fun to watch’? You know what, I have no room to talk, because I’ve never really watched a game that our boys weren’t playing.

When Pop lets parker and ginobli run like the spurs. The light of those guys eyes when they dash out there and OUT RUN THE SUNS is pretty awesome.

Obama's brother or step brother of something
is new oregon beaver coach or assistant coach or something. I heard it on NPR although I have not verified and thus I don’t really know what I’m talking about, but I’m just saying there could be some relation if he’d gone the Obama direction.
I agree with you, bad political move to have gone McCain there. Obama was clearly the better choice for the basketball tie in.

Obama vs McCain...
On the basketball court. The next president of our united states should be able to hit his free throws in a clutch situation and so I propose instead of voting we put them out there for a free throw contest. Winner takes all.
McCain is a tough old coot and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was closer than most people think. Also, if he makes them and beats Obama, people can’t knock him for being old.

Um...
John McCain doesn’t play basketball. This isn’t really the place to voice complaints about the facial ascetics of presidential canditates. It’s also a little bit rude, don’t you think? I mean, I’m only 25 and even I know it’s a bit tastless to make fun of the way old people look, much less war heros. Why don’t you just go ahead and make fun of the way he walks while your at it?
Personally I hope Hillary Clinton wins because she is totally hot.

Okay.... so the replies seem rather off topic and I shall be on topic
I probably wouldn’t have gone off if I’d kept reading and realized that others were too.
1.) Timmy is getting on the older side but…
2.) I also read that Timmy was running a 103 temperature during that first game and hadn’t recovered in the second game. The third game he was feeling much better but still sick.
So, I wouldn’t count Timmy out of it yet. I still pick NO, but who knows. Parker can straight up play when the reins are off him as can Ginobli. They also have a good coach. Still, I think NO can take the spurs but I expect Timmy to do better in the future.

I don't mind the political posts.
Especially in the off-season. I do agree that there are no candidates worthy of the office of President, but simply saying they suck stifles debate. There are really only two worthy topics of discussion: Politics and Religion. Nothing else really matters. Sports are a fun diversion, but they really don’t affect my life (or my afterlife). Politics can be sickening, to say the least, but if we do not engage in them, far sicker things can, have and will happen. Not voting is irresponsible. I have advocated “None of the above” in the past, but that doesn’t mean that we do not vote.
And since that was all serious, I must end with this. I’m glad they don’t give a rat’s behind. That would be disgusting. A whole rat is less messy.

hey
i wont vote for any of them because they dont do anything about what matters the most to America. I think they can find some one else that shares their values, not me. Democats and Republicrats all the same these days. There is only one agenda to have a Mexico, US, and Canada become one.

Who says you have to vote for a Democrat or a Republican?
There are other people who run. Nobody votes for them because they don’t think they can win. Which is completely backwards in the way we should vote. If everyone voted their conscience instead of trying to keep these two bloated political parties afloat, these candidates would have chance.

If he's the guy who supports your positions best.
Then go for it. If Ralph Nader is closer to your view, go for him. There are more than two possible point of views.
Personally I am looking for a pro-life, pro-green, smaller-government, leave-Iraq candidate. That clearly rules out both the Dem’s and the Rep’s. I’m open to suggestions.

With the time corruption get it all, Corrupt, sorry, CroRupt.
I have seen around me that men can have friends easily because we take things easy. We play around a ball or cards or something and we don´t want to find quick if the guys we are playing agree or not with us in serious matters or should be or not our friends. We play and time helps to take it out. Women are more perfectionist and usually want to resolve problems or clarify questions too fast, IMO. I think of topic here is useful in a similar way. It brokes seriousness where disagreements could be too seriously debated. You can´t have a fight here easily. I tried it and I couldn´t.

Tim's been around a while now.
Although, some big guys can last a while in this league if they’re smart. And I think Duncan is pretty smart. He’s slowing down, but don’t stick the fork in him yet.

I'd have to agree
I think he lost a lot of his athleticism after he had some (knee?) surgery, but id hasn’t really mattered since his game was predicated on position and timing. When he was younger he really could get up there, but only would do it when he needed to (kinda like Roy).
I think it was the illness, combined w/ NO double-teaming fast and hard, that has made Timmy look so old. Its no coincidence that once Ginobli went off they won a game, because NO is basically forcing the Spurs to win from the perimeter.

I Love Chris Paul
I have more than a man crush on him now. I want to sleep at his feet. I love him more than I love Brandon Roy. I feel like I’m cheating on Brandon, but I can’t help it.
Tim Duncan is fine, the problem they were having is that Chris Paul is so good, that the Spurs did not know what to do. Paul starts, stops, and changes speed so much that his opponents don’t know if they should try to block a shot, look for a pass, or just stay in front on him. They figured out that last game that they should focus on shutting down their man. Paul will adjust and we’ll see soon if the Spurs adjust to Paul’s adjustments.
