My wife, Khara, works with a nice guy, who I will call Bill, to protect his identity. I normally interact with him at Chili's, where Khara's coworkers sometimes go after work. Bill is somewhere between a friend and an acquaintance. About two and a half months ago, Khara, Bill, Bill's fiancée, and I went out for dinner. Afterwards, we talked about hanging out more.
We never went out again. About two months ago, Bill and his fiancée called off their wedding, and about two weeks after that, they called off their relationship. Bill moved out a few weeks later, and the break up has been really hard on him. It was a complete surprise to him and everyone who knew them.
Since Bill has been so upset, I just burned him a CD, to lift his spirits. I wrote on the front, "Songs That Rock!" I told Khara I made a CD of songs to cheer him up, and I asked her to give it to him tomorrow. If I am lucky, she will not listen to it before she gives it to him.
