Aldridge/Roy finish third in voting

Not too bad for the local. He even got 9 first place votes. It's hard to argue against either Hedo or Rudy although strong cases could be made for all of them. I'm just glad we have LaMarcus as he is the best fit for our franchise. Maybe he can get this award next year! Or maybe Martell! Or maybe we can sweep all of the awards. Or maybe I can keep dreaming.
Also Roy finishes third in Sportmanship award :

That seems about right
And all that he’s a sophomore so he doesn’t count BS has been thrown out a bit.

At least it wasn't
Rondo. That guy gets so much undeserved love it’s sickening.

I wish Roy won
But I’m glad LMA didn’t win MIP. That’s a backhanded compliment for a second year player who is SUPPOSED to be good. Turkoglu deserved it more because he took a step up in his game, after 8 years in the league. I think the MIP should be for people who elevated their game unexpectedly, or made such a huge jump that they truly improved more than anyone else—such as Chris Paul (but even then, he was so good before, it seems silly to give him the MIP).
Gay is in the same boat as LMA; he’s SUPPOSED to be good. Improving in your second year is NORMAL. They shouldn’t hand out awards for normal progress like that.
I agree with Sabonis4EverFTW, and Rondo gets way overrated by people nowadays. But, that’s what being on a winner does for your prestige. He’s good, but he ain’t a future franchise PG. Championship PG? Sure, in the right scenario. Lucky for him he’s in the right scenario already (God forbid they win, of course. The world doesn’t need to give Boston fans more reason to be insufferable).
Roy getting third in the Sportsmanship award is nice, and once he’s an even bigger name he’ll win it. It’s just nice, no other way to put it. Roy-Bot is programmed to be LOVED.
