Greg Oden drinking!!!
Well I dont know if anybody posted this here, I never saw it but its new. I found a picture of Greg Oden drinking wine. I still can't figure how to post HTML(english is my second language), but here is the link.
http://www.collegeotr.com/pennsylvania_...state_7632 So what do u think is it something to worry about or its all cool? I think it all cool let him have fun before he starts playing. How would Nate and KP would react if they would see this pic?

You sure busted him, RipCity
This spells the end for Greg’s NBA career and the beginning of a new Jail Blazers era. Someone give RipCity a Pulitzer.

Whats funny is the author's second sentence...
“On top of that, he had foot surgery before the start of the season and has yet to play a game in the NBA”
Foot surgery??? That guy needs to do some research before he attempts to make a 19 year old kid look bad for having a drink at a college party.
Seriously though, box wine out of a plastic cup?? You are better than that Greg…

The only mistake I see here is Greg letting someone snap a picture of him while
drinking. I remember seeing a pic last year of some girl griding up on him. I was a tad jealous I might say. I think it was on drunkathlete.com or something. When he was questioned about it (with the Humpty Dance playing as the theme song) his honest answer was something along the lines of “She could really work it out.” I loved that honest reply.
I am going to have to go a little SNL on this one. WIne drinking? Really? Really? I need a red alert. Oden is a very bad man. Red alert!

Nah. Nothing to worry about. Looks to me like he's trying to make
a bunch of guys feel comfortable at having GREG ODEN in their apartment! Actually, it doesn’t even look like there is anything in those plastic glasses. Besides, recent research shows that a little wine every day has medical benefits. He’s fine.

I'm drinking right now!
Who cares if he is in a picture where he is drinking wine. Is it really a big deal if Greg Oden drinks alcohol in his private residence?
Personally, I think this is an outrageous post. Kids don’t need to be scutinized like that, if you are looking for smoke before fire just give the kid a break unless something actually worth alarm happens. Most bad behavior is serial, bad guys just do the same stuff over and over. Greg Oden has shown only a solid character since the spotlight has been on him.
by Portland Dynasty on Apr 26, 2008 10:33 PM PDT 0 recs
When you assume, it makes a you-know-what out of Greg Oden
I don’t condone underage drinking but this picture doesn’t point to that necessarily. It’s a picture of Greg Oden with an annoying shirt, holding an empty plastic cup, with a box of wine on the table next to him. Plus there’s a picture of him participating in what appears to be a toast. No picture of him drinking anything at all. He could have been using that cup for water. Or soda. Or grape juice. Or cranberry juice. Or a small protein shake. Any number of things. If I had a picture of myself standing next to a scantily clad supermodel that doesn’t mean her and I are doing the “full court press.” The point is, let’s not assume the Big-O is drinking crappy box wine based on one picture of him NOT drinking crappy box win.

box wine is a gateway drug
and its chronic and progressive…
sure, now it starts as just a sip off a toast at a casual gathering of friends but before we realize it Oden is going to be pouring champagne over his head and on his teammates … what a waste

You spend a year away from the game...
...and see if you don’t drink by the end of it.
Still, without forensics on the substance in the cup or the testimony of those present, we cannot know if it was box wine in there or just water.
There’s a rumor out there that he eats, sleeps, and goes to the bathroom too.

The Sad Thing
The sad thing for me is that GO looks old enough to buy beer and instead buying them some good beer, he made them all drink box wine. I don’t know if I like his lack of support for his teammates.

Get Rid of HIm
The Blazers need to get rid of Greg Oden right now, drinking alcohol under the age of 21? This cannot be excepted…
by alexfoster on Apr 27, 2008 5:18 PM PDT 0 recs
A buyout is on the way
Unfortunately his contract is still guaranteed this next season so we’re on the hook for that, but we can buy him out and not pick up the team options afterwards. Greg has to realize, the culture is bigger than any one person.
Even if he didn’t have a drink, just the fact that he put himself in this situation where people were gathered together and beverages of the refreshing nature were consumed… it just points to a severe lack of good judgement on Greg’s part. Why wasn’t he lifting weights instead? Shooting FTs? Helping orphans? He OWES us and I don’t know if the average fan is able to forgive him of this.
Perhaps the Blazers will come to a compromise, and force Greg to take hourly breathalyzer and BAC tests to make sure he’s clean. We don’t want no wine addict hanging out in our locker rooms, trying to push his wares on our naive youngins.
How quickly the mighty fall. First dancing with a girl at a high school party, now holding a plastic cup in a toast. You know, I remember when Oden was full of hope and dreams; they said he was a can’t miss basketeering prospect. Not many know this, but we used our #1 draft pick on him 3 or 4 years ago. Our only hope now is to package him in a trade so we get SOMETHING for our lottery pick.

Vin Baker
Oden seems to have a worse drinking problem than Vin Baker did, and there was always a team willing to give ol’ Vino Vin another chance. If we try for Medical Retirement, chances are another team will sign Oden and he’ll play more than 10 games and we’ll have his salary go against the cap still.
Unfortunately, a buyout is our only way to move past this horrific situation :-(

cant the blazers just cut him?
isnt there a rule that says if a player does something heinous like Oden did that the team can rightfully just dissolve the contract?

There's only one thing proven by this picture,
and it’s that people like to create something out of nothing. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a pretty straight edge, but this picture doesn’t show that Greg Oden drank anything other than water, or some type of clear soda or something. Would I be disappointed if he drank alcohol underage? Yes, but I wouldn’t scream jail blazers. Even so, this picture doesn’t alarm me at all.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Who the **** cares?
Even Canzano hasn’t touched this one (so far, at least).
Is there anyone here, after all, who never touched a sip of booze prior to their 21st? Those without gin can throw the first bottle, or something like that…
by EngineerScotty on Apr 28, 2008 10:56 AM PDT 0 recs
And those with gin can throw the bottle
but sure make sure it’s empty before throwing. I consider it a grevious sin to waste good gin.
(Note: Wasting bad gin is still a sin, only not so grevious.)
