Sixth Man Award ballots are in!...

Star-divide

....and it's Manu in a landslide. One hundred and twenty-three of 124 first-place votes. Barbosa was a distant second, Terry a barely-on-the-board third. No word on where Travis finished in the voting. My two cents -- it's robbery that Terry's ahead of him. He tailed off badly in the middle/towards the end of the season, and Travis hit a legion of clutch shots that apparently didn't get factored in by, well, anybody.

[Edit: I first posted ESPN.com's link. NBA.com has the full results -- Travis finished with a whopping 11 points, behind such luminaries as One-Trick-Pony-Pretty-Boy Kyle Korver and Didn't-He-Already-Piggyback-His-Way-To-ONE-Ring? James Posey. I'm not bitter.]

Kyle Korver and James Posey over Trout.

wow

Travis had a way better year then Josh Childress, JR Smith, Maxiell, and Posey. Jack made the list with one second place vote…who did that?
Here are the final standings:

Manu Ginobili,
Leandro Barbosa
Jason Terry
Kyle Korver
Ben Gordon
Josh Childress
J.R. Smith
James Posey
Jason Maxiell
Travis Outlaw
Linas Kleiza
Jordan Farmar
Jerry Stackhouse
Rashad McCants
Louis Williams
Jarrett Jack
David Lee
Andres Nocioni

Maxiell over Troutlaw seems fine by me

I would much rather have Maxiell than Troutlaw. That dude is a baby eating beast!

No offense Troutlaw, but I just loves me some Jason Maxiell

Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

You so crazy

Maxiell may have a sweet tooth for babies, but Travis has no hair!!!

I would love to have Maxiell

but in terms of who was the better sixth man this year, I don’t think it’s close. here are some of his stats for the season…

G MIN PPG APG RPG 3P%
2007-08 Season 82 21.5 7.9 0.6 5.3 .000

wow

that didn’t work. the first stat is games played, then minutes, then points, assists, rebounds, and 3pt%

Dont bother me with numbers

I like Maxiell’s moxey. I could make arguments like Travis being the go to scorer off the bench, but I am just going to leave it at moxey.

Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

why not korver?

We were killing Utah when we exposed their weak perimeter shooting. I don’t think they would have made the playoffs had they not traded for korver.

This can't be correct

Player, Team 1st 2nd 3rd Pts
Travis Outlaw, Portland - - 11 11
Jarrett Jack, Portland - 1 - 3

Jarrett Jack?? A 2nd place vote? When Travis got no 2nd place votes?

random

hanging chad maybe?

or maybe jarrett’s mom has a vote.

TIMMAY!

So there’s this one voter out there who really likes JJ, and threw him the “top-guy-not-my-actual-vote” vote.

Wonder who that is.

Blazers have a five-on-three...and they pull it back and wait for help.

Probably

Could be a PG fan, or former PG with a vote, votin for a Terry as 1 and Jack as 2?

Hmm.

I think voting for Korver over Trout actually makes sense. He revitalized Utah, and ended up being exactly what they needed. Remember that they didn’t run away with the division until he showed up; it was a three-horse race with Denver and the Blazers. Utah had no clutch three-point shooters, then they traded one of their scrubs for one of the best in the game. Makes sense to me.

Also, I think the Posey pick was just because the voters wanted to pick somebody from Boston. I know, it makes no sense.

Trade Freeland!

Two things

1) Can we find out who is so high on Jack as to give him a 2nd place vote?

2) East Coast bias

Blake brings it up on the right, swings it to Webster on the elbow, he moves around the key and passes to the low left block for Aldridge, Aldridge jukes baseline, turns back in and finds Roy cutting down the seam, ROY THROWS IT UP AT THE RIM FOR ODEN WHO THROWS IT DOWN FOR THE TWO HANDED MONSTER JAM!!! BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA!!! -Wheeler '08-'09

I know what you mean by bias,

but the top four guys are from the west conference

I didn’t see an address in your profile…

coaches vote, right?

If coaches do indeed vote, I bet you is what Nate who voted for Jack…unless of course you can not vote for you own.

Maybe it was NJ coach

Maybe that report that they were high on Jack during those trade talks had some truth to it.

I have no problem with this voting

Sure, Trout should be above a couple of those guys, but its not worth getting upset about.
