Blazers needs and Fans wants

What do you think the Blazers need for improvement next season. From all the other post it kooks like most fans want them to trade for a point guard. Well they could stay pat and develop their own .And hope J.Jack and Sergio make big inprovement in the next year.Or they could they to convice Ney Jersey or Memphis or even Minnesota to trade draft picks and players to mve up in the draft or trade for Vet. P.G. like a D.Harris for picks and expiring contracts. Most of the Blazers point guards are still though and do have room to grow and improve so what would be the real rick. Say they trade Jack and then in two years he becomes an allstar point guard behind CP3 and D.Williams or the east allstar point guard and our point we traded for still has not developed  in two years. so IMO maybe it would be ok to wait one more year to see how things develop with G.Oden and Rudy and our 1st round draft pick who ever it may be. Please jump in just don't cut my head off stop and think we all want the best for our Blazers so we all can enjoy the Champion ship together the sooner the better I know. But this is just a blog and we all are not real G.M.'s.So it just make it fun to see what everyone thinks we need or what they want.I would love to get D.Harris or CP3or D.Willaimsor even Rose or Westbrook in the draft. If thats what its really goin take to get us that championship faster. But Ialso would love to see a well built team for years to come.

Don't give up

Next time, do it in Word or something first, and run a spell check.

Organize related thoughts into paragraphs.

Pretend it is someone else who doesn’t know you that is reading it, and think about whether they will understand what you are saying, or whether you need to try to find a different way to say it.

Then, go away and do something else for a while, and then come back and check it over carefully again. Then, if you think it is ready to go, go ahead and post it.

Don’t get discouraged if you aren’t a great writer right now. Just keep trying and work on improving a few things at a time. It will come along.

Stand Pat

I don’t know if they will and I won’t be to upset if they don’t but I am of the opinion that they have many of the pieces in place already and they should wait until the trading deadline next February to make a deal with Raef’s contract.

I agree with you...

if they can get someone worthwhile without blowing up the team to get them, then I am fine with that because that also means a proper Pritch-slapping happened. Otherwise lets just stick with adding Oden and Rudy and see what happens. I think just adding those two is enough to take it to the next level – The Playoffs!

I dont want a crazy offseason

Preferably all the happenings going on in the Blazer camp is improvement for all our current Blazers. I want this team to win a championchip, not a bunch of new guys. I think we can do it.

by Sabonis4Ever on Apr 20, 2008 1:25 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Ok

If we can trade for a GOOD PG without gutting our team…then do it. I would vote no to trading for a PG who is marginally better than our current ones however. If all we can get is a marginally better PG…then I would rather develop ours.

I agree

I am of the opinion that we wait one more year and see how our players develop with Oden and Rudy coming in. I think we already have the pieces in place to make a championship run. It has been discussed to try and trade up in the draft to grab Rose. But the only way I see we are getting Rose is if we win the #1 or #2 pick in the draft. We can all hope!

I don’t think beyond Rose there is a point guard that I am sold on in this draft. I would rather trade down in the draft and possibly secure a higher pick next year or in 2010. If we could trade our #13 pick this year plus one of our second rounders to a team like Memphis or New York, for the right to trade first rounders in ‘09 or in ‘10 (our choice) than I would do that.

Here’s an idea that I would pursue: We trade our #13 pick, the #36 pick in this year’s draft, and Jack to New Jersey for their #21 pick this year and their 1st round pick in ‘09 or ‘10 (our choice). Then with the #21 pick we take Chalmers. I think Chalmers can be the lockdown defender at the point that we are looking for and we can get him later on and secure another 1st rounder in 09 or 10 (I think New Jersey will be bad for the next few years, even by the East’s standards).

Let’s let our players develop next year and then be in the driver’s seat draft wise and free agent wise in summer of ‘09. If we had all the cap space we are going to have and two first round picks next year, KP could do some serious dealing. At that time we will know exactly what are needs are. We’ll know what Oden and Rudy will provide and have another year of Outlaw, Webster, Frye and Sergio developing.

Draft

We might want to take a pf/c with that 13th pick for insur. just in case someone on the roster now gets an injury like Joel/Oden/Frye/Aldridge you just never know with those big guys and it doesn’t hurt to have an extra big in camp. But other wise I agree 100% with staying with the roster we have.Lets see if Jack and /or Sergio can elevate their game next season. The same goes for Outlaw / Webster / Jones they need to keep making major improvement on their game. But I do think we have the right Players For that Championship run they just need the time to get better. Which hopefuly that will be this summer . Then next season we well see our Championship team start coming around.

by billyjoejack on Apr 20, 2008 3:46 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Nah.

Look at our bigs situation:

C: Oden/Joel/Frye/LaFrentz
PF: LMA/Outlaw/Frye/McBob

We’re four-deep at each spot, with only one repeat. Any 4 or 5 that we draft would have to be significantly better than Frye to get even a whiff of playing time.

Trade Freeland!

by rockingharder on Apr 20, 2008 5:18 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I would be in favor of this plan

Assuming that Chalmers declares for the draft and is available at #21. However, if he isn’t in the draft then the #21 pick would be a lot less attractive.

by trk on Apr 22, 2008 1:03 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think we will make a move

For the simple reason that if we don’t, we’ll have too many pretty good players, and not enough minutes to let them all play. It makes no sense to have non-scrub level players rotting on the end of your bench. We already have a deep team, and we’ll be adding Oden, Rudy, and #13. We barely had enough minutes to go around this year for people like Sergio. With three more deserving players it could cause real problems. We need to make some kind of three-for-one deal or something in order to fix that. Then we can use our 2nd round picks or free agents to fill out the scrub spots.

by pualo on Apr 20, 2008 4:35 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I am with you here...

And to be honest, I don’t think its fair to players like Frye to have to be the 11th man and pick up a couple minutes a game at best. Sergio will be in the same position next year if we stand pat. I’m all for keeping chemistry and developing our young talent, but at some point, you have to be fair to the players… this isn’t NBA Live.

Scrubs

We have srubs as you call them McRoberts,Wafer,Raef Sergio those four are scrubs but good developing scrubs. Except Raef he’s an old scrub even thou he younger then I am. He’s old for basketball over his prime anyway. And Rockingharder I think it Outlaw plays PF he plays out of position Ithink he should be backing Webster up at sf and Frye should be the back PFand Rudy play SG With Przybilla at center and Jack and Sergio split the point guard spot unless one Make so much improvement over the summer that they over take Blake for the starting spot.

13th pick

I don’t see the blazers drafting anyone who will get playing time with the 13th pick, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they traded it away for just cash or future picks. The blazers are all wicked young, deep, and developing, and I don’t think they need any rooks
