Isiah Fired!
Knickfan's suffering is over! Isiah Thomas has been fired as coach by the Knicks!
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3353483
Isiah will still be with the team, just without an official title.
"I think Isiah remaining part of the franchise is good for the organization," Walsh said on a conference call with reporters. "I value Isiah's knowledge of the game and his opinions, so I will use him as a resource. Isiah will be reporting to me. There will be nobody reporting to Isiah."
. Who do you think the Knicks will hire? Will Larry Brown get another shot? Too bad we won't be able to pritch slap Isiah anymore, but I don't think the new president is that good either.
My favorite Isiah quote: If all I'm remembered for is being a good basketball player, then I've done a bad job with the rest of my life. - Isiah Thomas

Dolan hates Brown more than Zeke did ...
No way LB ends up back in NY.
They’ve got players-they need discipline. I bet they go after Skiles-someone who can bring much-need discipline to that locker room. He isn’t afraid to stick his foot up someone’s a** ...

It's too bad
Having Isiah out there always gives bad teams hope… hope that they can get rid of their problems in one fell swoop. Plus, in these serious times, it’s nice to have a steady source of comic relief. Isiah provided a lot of that.
Today is a tragedy.

A tragedy?
Dude….
Haven’t we suffered enough?
My God, if there’s a fan of any team that should be sympathetic it should be you, Blazer Fan Mort. You had Whitsitt. Well, we’ve just lived through Whitsitt on ‘roids.
No need to be greedy, Mortke. You got your mitzvah from Isiah. He took Zach and his 4.2 million lap-dance contract off your hands. Dayenu. And besides – with Darius now gone – you really don’t have any more drek to peddle. So, would it really hurt so much for you maybe to join me in feeling a bissel naches on this great and glorious occasion?

Hey, there you are!
I missed you, haven’t seen you around here for a while.
I was jus’ playin’, yo. I hate Isiah Thomas almost as much as a Knick fan would. He is an awful person in pretty much every way.
I feel much bizzy nachos on this great and glorious occasion!
This reminds me of a story that a friend’s father told me once about his experience on the rivers in Vietnam. They would regularly pass this one point where a Vietnamese soldier would pop out and fire wildly at them; he was the worst shot they’d ever seen and couldn’t hit a barn. They could easily have killed him, but never did, because if they did he might be replaced by someone who could actually aim.
Will the Knicks get someone to coach them who can actually aim?
That was so deep…

He was a nice man
Clearly had problems, but a nice man. I wish him the best.

Out of genuine curiosity
what makes you say that he was (is) a nice man? Everything I have read would indicate the opposite—that he’s a narcissistic personality who is cutting with and demeaning to his subordinates and believes himself the King Midas of basketball despite all evidence to the contrary.

OK I was flat wrong
He isn’t nice. I just feel sorry for him. That’s all. And I wanted to say something nice about him. I am sure there are people in the world who believe that he is a nice man. After I wrote it, though, I realized that the general consensus is that Isiah is NOT nice. Not nice at all. On the contrary, he seems to have been something of a monster in the workplace. A nightmare boss who harassed women subordinates. I suppose he has now received his just desserts—just like the Bulls coach who got fired on Christmas Eve. Mean spirited little tyrants who whould never be in supervisorial positions. I was flat wrong. I just have a soft heart and felt sorry for the little beast.
Nature bats last.

Interesting...
Interesting that they are keeping Isiah on the payroll in an “unnamed capacity” or whatever. Of course, they have to pay him regardless, but if he gets another NBA gig (could happen—many owners and execs consider the opinion of mere fans to be worthless), they might get out from under his contract.
By keeping him with the team, they keep another team from taking him off their hands. (And if he quits—then maybe they don’t have to pay him).
They should require duties of Isiah like cleaning latrines, or standing in a dunk tank, or jello-wrestling Stephon Marbury at halfcourt during halftime. (Not that I really want to watch… it’s like gawking at a traffic accident).
But still, interesting.

Advanced Scout?
That dude needs to realize that he is a good at scouting and just stick to that. He was also pretty good on sesame street as he has a sweet baby face.
Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

His head was too big to solve his own problems
He ultimately doomed himself and the knicks organization.

So how much does he get paid
to do nothing? Well I guess he did do somthing, like single handedly distroy a great nba franchise. Shouldnt he be paying the knicks just to stay around?
"The next day in practice, if you sweat, it's going to come out of your pores, regardless. If you ask any coach around the league how many times they have smelled liquor on a player . . . As long as that player is showing up on time, doing the drills and running, that's part of it. But there have been times, yeah. Yeah, you probably smelled liquor on me. But it's not like I'm at practice drunk. I'm totally focused."

Can you say "DISTRACTION"?
I find it intersting that on the same day New Yorker David Stern gets his way with the Oklahoma Sonics vote, the New York Knicks announce they are firing Isiah. Hmm…seems like a classic media distraction move if you ask me.

two words:
the draft. Isiah does have a good record of picking out talent where many would not see it

He set them up big time
Now watch—they’re gonna reach the finals next year with Isiah’s roster, but he won’t get any credit for it. That’s New York for ya! Always ready to tear down a 4 year long massive grotesquely expensive failure… sheesh, them big city types is TUFF.
He swore he was gonna be in NY until they win a title, and the Knicks just made a liar out of nice Isiah. That’s bad karma for ya, and no city slicker can overcome that!

Isiah is still there...don't worry!!
Donnie Walsh says: “Isiah will be reporting to me. There will be nobody reporting to Isiah.”. That says it all!

Isiah DOES have that CBA experience.
Experience KILLING the CBA, that is.
Still, I’d have no problem with sending him down to coach the Knicks’ D-league team, wherever that is.
Blazers have a five-on-three...and they pull it back and wait for help.
