Not meant to be offensive,
but who is the player or the players you like the least on the team ?
I don't see it from a basketball point of view, not the player you think would benefit the most from being elsewhere, or whose departure would better the team the most.
No, this question is about which player you like the least, whether it's because you don't like his demeanor, his style, the way he talks, his face, you don't feel him etc...
It can be because you really don't like his style of play though, because you think he's not flashy enough, or too much flashy compared to his effectiveness...
I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just curious to know, and NO, you can't say Darius (who I personnaly liked) anymore.
Mine are
Jack : no specific reason, I just don't like him too much
Blake: too much average, not flashy enough
And, who is your most hated blazer of all times ?
Mine is Z.Randolph, just couldn't stand him, his play, his selfishness, his apparant stupidity, his black holeness, his face, anything...

least favorite Blazer
Can’t think of one. I like ‘em all. Honestly. And Jack is the Man in my book.
Alright. Maybe I don’t like McBob. He displayed a bad attitude when they sent him down to the D-League the first time. I don’t like highly paid athletes with bad attitudes.
Nature bats last.

I don't like
Garnett, jerk talks too much
LeBron, his smug faces don’t jive with his little accomplishments.

Before anyone points it out
I know those guys aren’t on our team. I never miss an oppurtunity to say I don’t like them.

Least favorite ever: Bassy
Ugh, I could never stand that guy from the second I heard whispers the Blazers were going to draft him.
I don’t really have a least favorite on this team. I don’t really count JJ because he’s not a ‘core’ guy, so I’ll go with the guy who makes me tear out the largest clumps of hair with his disastrous shot selection and frequent stretches of mystifying play: Mr. Travis Outlaw
If you’d have asked me a few weeks ago, it might’ve been Martell. But a.) I don’t have fresh memories of Martell shooting 8 for 19 and making a bunch of dumb mistakes down the stretch against Phoenix in my head – and being called the ‘star of the game’ no less and b.) Marty’s got a bad heart, can’t pile on right now.
by leeroyjenkins on Apr 17, 2008 1:42 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Then again all Outlaw has to do is give me that "Gee shucks" grin and
say something like “Aw sucks it wasn’t our best game but golly we’ll be back next year” in his drawl and all’s forgiven. This may sound crazy but Outlaw could be a poor man’s Dwayne Wade (back when Dwayne used to be able to stay healthy and focus on hoops) if he’d pull it all together. He’s a reasonable shooter, but he could shoot 50%+ if he’d mix in an inside game to go along with some mid-range stuff and some 3’s

Yeah
Bassy was painful to watch. Even his movie annoyed me. I couldn’t imagine enjoying spending time with him ever.

It doesn't
have to be a core guy…
Didn’t like Bassy (you think HE was a core guy) neither, nor Damon Stoudamire too much, I don’t like PGs that don’t think pass first…
I forgot about Blake : I hate to when other PGs have career nights against him… I’m not an anti-Blake tough, and I’m sure he’s the best PG we have right now…

Bassy seemed core
Here is the evidence. We passed on the pgs in the 2005 class save for JJ.
Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

McBob, Sergio & Uncle Cliffy
I do root for these guys, but I don’t think either will amount to anything. Sergio is tremendously overrated and gets no arch on his jumper.
McBob can’t seem to get over being a high school all-american. He also needs to turn his cockiness into confidence.
Uncle Cliffy is my all-time least favorite Blazer because of how terrible he was in the playoffs. Never really liked Mark Bryant either.
by tweener on Apr 17, 2008 1:57 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
It's true
that he was choking come play-off time, but I liked him a lot, he was very fun to watch, a very good defender, versatile on offense (even though he was a pre-Rasheed in the sense that he felt too much with his 3 pointer, which wasn’t necessarilly a bad thing since defenders had to come out of the paint, blah blah blah…but I like interiors that CAN shoot from distance, but don’t forget their job is to get it done in the paint. Considering his versatility, he was a pretty modern 4). And whereas it wasn’t as a blazer, I can’t help but being very admirative of his longevity, one of the most productive career for an old man in my opinion.
I liked Bryant as well, his face and his toughness.

Liked him too
though he was a jerk…
I think things started to turn bad when the team started to play him at the 3, to play Iron-Man-Anderson at the 2.
but the rest of his carrer proved me wrong, he was only good in Sacramento.

good topic
Current: Martell but I had to think a while to get one…I mean I like the webslinger… just my least favorite.
Worst ever: I’ll say 2, Scottie Pippen I never got over the “refusing to go in the game and pout because coach chose someone else to shoot the final shot” thing…which I loved that Toni K hit it. Also, Dale Davis because he was always taking cheap shots at other players. (Dis)Honorable mention: Rider

After much thought....
This is a much harder question than I first thought. On the one hand, Jack has probably frustrated me more than any Blazer with his inability to consistent finish on the break or for his inexcusable turnovers. But I have been a huge fan of Jack since he was at Georgia Tech lighting up the NCAA tourney in his sophomore season. And Jack plays with heart. Up until the last two weeks, Frye probably would have been my answer, but his torrid play down the stretch combined with his goofy personality have earned him a pass from me. VON WAFER I just love for the pure comedic value. So, that leaves me with Raef at the bottom of the heap.
Least favorite Blazer of all time would probably have to be Scottie Pippen. Even though he played well for us and gave us credibility nationally, he was truly the first (not last) TrailBlazer that I can remember distinctly not liking.
Least favorite player in the NBA not named Kobe: Ricky Davis – a born loser if there ever was one.

Actually
Pippen was one of my most hated players in the NBA, as I had to endure so much of that never ending Bulls’ reign, and the story you’re reffering to is quite telling of his personality I think, but when he was a blazer, I really liked him.

Didn't
like Duckworth too much neither, appart from being big and having a nice shooting stroke, didn’t have too much for him, and he collapsed big time…
By the way, it’s weird when players from a year to the other seem like they are WAY worse, without injuries.
Players like Antoine Walker (not saying he was good, but when you see him this year…).
Stacey Augmon (though he was still a great defender, just seemed like he couldn’t do anything on offense when he arrived in Detroit) or Walt Williams (after we traded him to Houston) were two players I liked a lot, but fit to that model I think.

hold on a minute
what about when duckworth came back to play in the playoffs with that broken hand. He gave millions of young ball-players the belief that no matter if you were shot in the chest, missing an arm, or down to just your torso, you could walk it off.

Can you imagine if we had Sabonis?
Arvydas should have been the Blazers starting center for the championship caliber Blazer teams of the early 90s. Can you imagine the devastating impact his passing would have had with Drexler and Kersey filling the lane and TP spotting up for 3? It is crazy to think that Duckworth made 2 All Star games during that run.
Brian Grant is another good example of a player who became way worse- he was a blossoming star with the Blazers when we traded him and immediately became a journeyman borderline scrub after the trade. And then there was Shawn Kemp after he left Seattle – but he’s a different story.

To this day
I still can’t believe Duckworth was an all star. Of our starting 5 I liked him the least. Granted I was a wee lil kid back then. Adelman’s Blazers + Sabas = no Michael Jordan Era.

alltime least favorite for me
will always be rasheed.
this year i would have said jarrett jack - because of the turnovers - but lately ive been wondering if he just might turn out to be something pretty good.

Easy
Now: Roy, for what he said the other day and for taking yesterday off. Trade him while his value is high.
Forever ever: Sabonis, for not coming over when he was drafted, for being old, not being able to jump, and not being able to catch a towel that was tossed to him.

picks
Current:
Jack – I just cannot stand the perpetual look of confusion/frustration/anger/crying that seems to never leave his face. Obviously not a good enough PG, not needed at SG with Roy and Fernandez. The only Blazer who obviously puts personal issues ahead of the team – you can see it every time he plays. Not a winner.
All-Time:
Ruben and/or Rasheed

I’ll take those 2 as well.
I used to like Strickland when I was a kid, but after being on BE, it seems like he wasn’t the player I thought he was.

Un-favorites
Current: I hate to say it because he is one of my favorite personalities, but Frye cannot box out. He just can’t do it. He has a tragic allergy to it. There is no cure. They have to keep one of those pressurized yellow needles by the court at all times in case he accidentally puts butt to player and prevents the inevitable put-back dunks that have become the norm for whomever he is guarding.
All-time: Patterson. Stabbed my dog in a knife fight.

now
I just wish Jack would quit doing jump passes. I about have a stroke everytime. Least fave Blazer right now? Tough one. I guess Raef, just for being a pile of uselessness.
I didn’t really pay attention during the heavy jail-blazer era, but I never liked Zbo. I went to a game and cringed every time getting back on D and he was walking. He did score 40 that game though. Still my least fave of all time though.
by 50backflips on Apr 17, 2008 3:37 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Current is Jack. Listen I like his heart, I like his personality but on the court, no, no, no good sir. Jump passes, stepping out of bounds, unable to lead a fast break, this from our point guard? I know a lot has been said about Jack already so I’ll lay off the poor kid but I will say the most heated arguments with serious animosity I’ve had with my friend revolved around Jack. He’s tearing a friendship apart!
I don’t understand how anyone can dislike Damon. OK, yes he made a ton of mistakes but the man went from being benched and fought his way back to starter. He has immense character and when I think about him and what he meant to the organization, this city, I love him.
I’ve been staring here trying to think of my least favorite all time and I can’t do it. I’m the biggest homer there is. I love all my Blazers warts and all. Sheed, Z-Bo, Miles, I have room in my heart for all of you. You were a Blazers jersey and you get unconditional love from me.

jr rider
is hands down my fav. of all time. interestingly enough, he left before the team really got the ‘jailblazers’ nickname. that doesn’t seem quite fair, does it? i think the team should have signed him to one of those hokey one day contracts teams give to retiring players so for that day, he could have reigned supreme on a team full of malcontents.

drumroll please... ... ...
least fav now – Jack
as has been previously said, it’s not his heart, it’s his confusion on the floor and very, very poor mistakes.
least fav ever – probably Rasheed. not just for his crappy attitude and racism, but because he blew game 7 agains the lakers that we all remember. I’ll never forgive him for missing all those shots.
