The Warriors Are The Team of the Future???
This article is good for a laugh.

Some of the more choice assumptions:
1. Andris Biedrins is just as good as LMA or maybe even better.
2. The Warriors young talent is just as good as the Blazers young talent.
3. Greg Oden is not an "impact" type player.
Real men of genius, indeed. You had me at hello, brother.

Why didn't you keep your name?

I don't want people thinking I'm a total sci-fi nerd
Just kidding. Truthfully, I created that name in a real hurry. I didn’t lurk before joining, I just saw a comment that I wanted to comment on and dove in.
I didn’t realize that I’d become a Bedge addict. I want to represent myself and my team (GO BLAZERS!) better, and thought paying homage to the great Bill Schonely would be the best way.
After all, every fan knows the old saying, “You’ve got to make your free throws.” It’s classic Schonz.
Is there a 12 step program out there for people like me that spend WAY too much time on this site?

If there is, I could use it.

Not Me
The Bedge keeps me away from the cheese.
Ask not what Blazers Edge can do for you; ask what you can do for Blazers Edge.

I love dogmatic assurtions
with no evidence to support them. Along with wild speculation. Also what’s with her comment on him being slower after surgery. Even if that were true the guys was faster in the pre-draft workouts then Durant. DURANT!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Warriors have a nice future
Davis won’t be there for long, but Ellis/Biedrins/Wright make up a nice young nucleus. If Oden ends up being a bust, then maybe he’s not so far off.
I don’t think Oden is going to be a bust though.

Personally
I just can’t get too worked up over some random fan’s opinion on their favorite team versus our favorite team. It’s like some Warriors fan getting in a tizzy because someone random here said Baron always disappoints in the end and Monta will never play NBA defense. Why get bugged by it? It’s just some random fan.
I think the Dubs got some good young pieces, even if I think Monta is overrated. He is very fun to watch on the offensive end, but he isn’t a good shooter, ball handler, and is maybe one of the worst defenders at the guard spot in the league. Exciting, but he isn’t anywhere close to Baron Davis in the ability to be a main guy on a team.
Wright has shown some good things this season, and aside from being terminally goofy looking he has arms from here to Peoria and a nice touch to boot. Imagine an even skinnier LMA with less shooting touch and athleticism, and you got Wright. He could turn good.
Beidrins will continue to be a defensive and rebounding force, like an awesome version of Jor-El Pryzzle. Aside from dunks and putbacks though, he just has no offensive game (like Joel) and is an awful free throw shooter. But, he rebounds very well and blocks shots. I just don’t think he has the all round potential that LMA does.
Oden is not as raw as people think, which I think is more of people going off what someone else has said and not really watching Oden for themselves. He averaged more points than ANY recent dominant post player did as a freshman (Shaq, Duncan, Hakeem, you name it) and he has the jump hook and soft touch needed to be an all time great. But, because he can dunk over most anyone he gots more of those type of shots.
The entire season of working on his jumper and his touch will help him a lot in the long run. If his knee is okay, I say it is a 0.000000000000001% chance of him being a bust. Sure fire centers of the decade don’t bust out. It is wishful thinking by a rival fan to believe that Oden won’t be able to score, or that he’ll have suffered athletically.
Overall, I don’t mind some person I don’t know having their own homerified view of their team and their players. I know I got my own homery view, but mine is correct because we’re the best team ever in the history of the universe and got the best players with the most potential to ever play in the NBA.
Nuff said.

Agreed
Just some homer propping up his team. Problem is the ‘points’ he makes have no evidence to back them up. “Monta Ellis is awesomesauce!!111” isn’t evidence.

I'd like to wait and see what the fallout is...
After Nelson benched Baron for the game the other night that killed their playoff hopes.
He does have a point though. Out of our group, I think Oden is the least sure-fire.
It's a WAR, and we're bringin' the BOOM!

What fallout?
Baron won’t opt out because he’d be giving up tons of money. Nobody else is paying $17 mil for a mecurical non-leader who mails in every third game. I fully expect Baron to be back in GS next season, helping his team barely miss the playoffs.

No mention of the decrepit
coach Nelson either. He can’t have too many more years. For being a genius I gotta wonder why he’s never sniffed a ring as a coach. The Blazer’s front office / coaching staff has yet to reach it’s prime. I wonder what’s going to happen when GSW’s staff tanks in a year or two?

The team of the future is right here in P Town
GS will be just another good team in the West. I think the Sonics will be a force and of course Utah.

Don't see the Sonics as being a force for a while
The West is loaded right now. Reading the article DIS-proved the author’s point, in my opinion. I think the Blazers WILL take the Warriors’ spot in the playoffs next year. Sonics will be a this-years’ version of Sac-town.

For us to take their spot
They had to have made the playoffs this season. They just might not have a spot at all with our emergence, but they don’t have a spot to take.
Whose spot WILL we take? All 8 teams should make the playoffs again. Oooh it’ll be tough but I know we can do it! We’ll be able to hang with anyone, but unless injuries take their toll on someone else for a change there is no reason why it won’t be exactly the same as this year—50+ wins makes the playoffs in the west. I think we can win that many.
We can maybe take Denver, Dallas, Houston, or the New Orleans spots. Do any sound likely to miss the playoffs? Well, they’re gonna! Cuz therez a new kidz onz the blockz! Oh oh, oh oh oh! Oh oh, oh oh! Oh oh, oh oh oh—the right team!
