Interestingly
I always played that third was the one with a hairy chest -- a fate far worse than being a turd when you're five years old.

So i said third was the one with the treasure chest.

My friend called me this morning...
His mom was given 4 blazer tickets to this game by a client of hers. She is no blazer fan, so she gave them to us.  So now we are going to the game, I was jacked/stoked!(choose the most obsurd)!!

So, he picked up the tickets tonight after he got off work.  Then the phone call came late tonight, after I had started to fall asleep.  It went as follows:

Me:  "What!?!"

him: "Dude, we are sitting right behind Paul Allen!"

me: "no #$^& ?  We got 100 level tickets?"

him: "no, these cost $275.00 a piece.  We are literally a couple rows off the court, and right behind Paul Allen"

Me "OH MY $$#^#%^%&^$&$&$&$&$^&#%$@$%%$^%^&^&!!! YESSIR!!!!!"

Now I cant sleep, soooo excited...

I have to admit those stats are undeniable...

ps   I will believe I am sitting right behind Paul Allen when I am looking at the back of his balding head.  Regardless though, I am going to be closer to nba action than I have ever been in my life.  Soooooo excited...

Sweet!
When I was buying tickets for the Blazer Laker game last Tuesday I went to Craigslist to see what they had to offer. A description of this one guys seats were "19 rows up from Paul Allen".  It was funny because they were priced more than all the other tickets in that area.

42-40
The Blazers will be up for the Memphis game because it will guarantee them a winning season. They always play well against good teams and might catch the Suns looking forward to the playoffs. I see 42-40 when it's all said and done. We'll see. I can't tell you all how happy I am that this will be the last season we are on the outside looking in for a long, long time.

I know we're inconsistent...
But last home game of the year, after a great win, last home game, playing a pretty damn bad Grizzlies team, at the last home game of the year in front of a raucous last-home-game crowd... that's GOTTA equal sum winny win win.

Plus there will be no end of legally [mentally deficient] posts saying to trade Roy or Fire Nate if we lose.  I don't wanna even not read 'em, I sez I don't wanna even see 'em!

I'm hoping for a big blow out, we see Sergio and McBob throw a huge alley-oop down, chalupas rain from the sky and Rudy Gay finds his way into a Blazers uniform in time for the Suns game later this week.

Since I think it's the last home game of the year, I envision a high scoring affair.  I see Martell ripping a healthy heart out of Brian Cardinal and swallowing it whole, healing his own heart forever... and then he hits fourteen 3's, shattering the old NBA record of 12.  I see LMA showing a mean side and giving Brian Cardinal stitches.  Roy gets a triple double-- IN BLOOD.  I don't know what that means, but it might involve Brian Cardinal going home in a body bag.

PURSUE EVERYTHING.

During Warm ups is there any chance?
We see Oden in line and toss in a few lay ups with the team? Just to leave us all with a little taste of what comes next?

I dreamed this actually happened last night, and it seemed so real. When I woke up I was actually sad it wasn't Wednesday morning.

Mrs. Moe' and I will be in our usual seats in section 116 begging that last nights dream could actually come true.

Rudy Gay
is much better than I ever thought he'd be.

by leeroyjenkins on Apr 15, 2008 5:24 PM PDT reply actions

Well
The big question about him at draft time was whether he had the motivation to meet his potential. I mean he fell asleep in a few NCAA games for christ sakes. He was a projected top 3 pick if I remember right, falling as low as 7th really motivated him to prove the doubters.

I bet when the Rockets lost in 5 in the first round, they might really be rethinking the acquisition of Shane Battier for him.

Yah I was never excited about him pre-draft
After all I'd seen with the Jailblazers, 'motivation issues' was a huge red flag.  I already had the bust label attached to him before he ever played a game.

Guy's a heckuva player though.  I was totally wrong.

6 rpg for a reasonably-sized second year guy who's also a scorer is impressive.  Only two TO per 37 minutes (against almost 2 assists) is really neat too.

But the ESPN boxscore has Greg Oden listed.  Does this mean he's active?

I assume he's not in a uniform, right?  Does this mean anything?

Obviously he's not going to play, but I thought maybe putting him in a uni would be cool, a little taste of next year.

Help Save the Sonics!
As citizens of the NBA, it falls on the rest of us to help Save the Sonics!  I beg you to please post your team/owner's information with the following.  Thanks!

We Miami Heat fans have put together a proposed plan of action here:  http://thesouthfloridafan.blogspot.com/2008/04/how-to-help-seattle-keep-their-sonics.html

It involves this:

IMPLORE EVERY NBA TEAM BLOG TO POST THE ADDRESS OF THEIR OWNERS. IN ADDITION, LETTERS SHOULD INCLUDE SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

"As a form of protest, we vow to boycott any game next season in which the Oklahoma City Sonics play, whether it be in our arena or watching it on television."

Spread this around as much as you can.  It's going to take the other teams to prevent this from happening.  Let's save the Sonics!

Dear Jarrett
You know how the quarter's ending, a second or two left, and there's a scramble for the ball? Even of the other team gets it, there's no time to do anything with it.

So don't jump on them. You never know what the referees may call. Especially when one of your nicknames is "The Momentum Killer"

by Timmay! on Apr 15, 2008 9:00 PM PDT reply actions

It was not a smart foul
but it was a semi-equal play and could have been called either way maybe.  Also you're bagging on the guy for the same quality that just got you 15 points in that quarter.

by Dave on Apr 15, 2008 9:02 PM PDT up reply actions

Plus the Grizz missed the free throws
So you're calling the 15 point quarter a momentum killer because they scored...zero points in return because of the mistake?

Listless first half
List-filled second half.  The unusal scorers are leading the charge: Jack, Frye, Blake.  Outlaw having a crummy game.  We couldn't rebound early but we've fixed that and thus built up the lead we always should have had.  Gay is not killing us.

We'll remember this season...

Finishing .500+ is a huge step for this team. I didn’t give them 35 wins without GO, then they turn around on a 13 game win streak that is a just a taste of things to come if GO and the FA work out. I think the PTB’s won 21 games 2 years ago ,and now I believe we are looking at 50+ next year. This is going to be fun for a long , long time. Thank You Trailblazer Players, Staff and Ownership for a great lesson in rebuilding with purpose. Thank you Dave for the Tee-Shirt; I got it a couple of days ago, and WIN Fatwansanobi; your a great hoss, I want that jersey. Thank all you posters too for geat insite and entertainment. Next year I’ll be on that Jersey Contest every game. I look forward to continued discussion this summer.

Colonel Rondo and his second round armada?

If Boston is determine to rebuild and cut salary isn’t two mid lotto pics and the right salary filler decent. Maybe not enough but better than what most teams get in that situation. I would prefer that over the Chris Paul package.

I hope and figure that the Trail Blazers could have the best of both worlds. I’ve never seen a more bountiful 2nd round. Its conceivable that the team could deal both lotto picks and still find some nice players in the draft. Players like Orlando Johnson, Lucas Nogueira, Kevin Jones, Will Barton are 1st rounders in most drafts even if its just based on hype and potential. Then you have some possible gems in such a deep draft like Machado, a couple guys that I personally like from Georgetown-their center Henry Sims and forward Hollis Tompson. Both high upside players that I would love to watch in the summer league. If PA were to ever buy into or trade into late first or second round now is the time. Give me Freeland, Diebler and four second rounders in the summer league with Rondo coaching.
