SI Vault articles about the Blazers
Okay, I know it's not great to just put links to personal blogs, but I can't do the work twice. I went through and linked to nearly all of the articles about the Blazers or Blazers players that have run in SI over the last 38 years. They're on my blog by headline and date. Enjoy. I'm really looking forward to reading the Curry Kirkpatrick articles that were referenced in Red Hot and Rollin' and the articles about Sabonis, my all-time favorite Blazer.

Chemistry matters
Philadelphia had more raw talent. We had a team, they had a, well, I'm not sure what they had.

Sabonis
(Courting a Big red from June, 13, 1988 and So Near, So Far from Oct. 17, 1988). It seems like they were trying to get him over then. I wonder what the heck happened. It sounded like he wanted to come over here at the time. Why did he eventually go to Spain in the early 90's?

A few reasons, I think.
- The soviet union. It kept him out at first, although the fall in 1989 made it much more possible. After that he didn't come over because...
- He was making a ton of money in Europe.
- He was basically considered the best player not in the US. The superstar of world basketball.
