Koponen Tearing It Up

In the first game of the Finish League Semi-finals, Petteri took it to a whole new level against the #1 team in the league.

28 Minutes
2pts - 5/7 (71%)
3pts - 5/8 (63%)
FTs - 0/0
Pts - 25
Rebounds - 2
Assists - 9
Turnovers - 0!!!
Steals - 5
Fouls - 1

All in all leading his team to a 92 to 67 victory and taking a 1 to 0 lead in the best of 5 series. Full box score (here) Koponen may not be the Blazers' answer at PG but it's still going to be fun to watch this kid play in summer league this year.

Impressive.
Hope his development continues so well.

English Lesson
No need for "so".

You would say "Hope his development continues well."

Or you could combine them and say:
"Hope his development continues swell."

SO indicates a degree
If he wanted to say that his progression continues at that degree of quality or speed or whatever, then it's gooder english.  I think he did mean that.

Agreed
but it wouldn't normally be expressed that way.  Normally, I think someone would say "this well" rather than "so well".

Thanks to you all.
I will learn something all days of my life.

all the days of my life
or "every day of my life".  Again, what you've written is technically and grammatically correct, but it is not the normal expression.

In both of these cases, people would certainly understand you, so there's no real problem with your wording.

It partly depends on how proficient you want to become.  If your goal is to be able to communicate effectively, you are doing fine.  If your goal is to learn wording that will make people forget you are Spanish and think you are American, then perhaps you need a mental health exam, but we will help you anyway.

I´m a cat.
I´m curious. I´ll "try" to learn wording that will make people forget I´m Spanish and think I´m American, then I´ll return to wording like a Spaniard anyway. It will take time, because I´m learning almost only in Bedge.

It's a good predicament to be in
If we draft or trade for another PG, having Blake, Sergio and (insert name here), it's unlikely that Kop will make into onto our roster for the 08/09 season. While its always nice to have a war chest of trade bullets, if Kop can get playing time next season on team in a stronger Euro league, I could see him coming over in 09/10 if Sergio continues to struggle.

hmmm
He shoots the three well... has high assists... has been working hard to get in NBA shape, not euro shape, and he had 5 steals.

"Blazers need a defensive PG who can hit the open three and is a pass first guard"

Oh yeah, and he's 19?

cool beans.

Team OK just has to say that we'll take the lead with no delay. We have the players to keep the pace and in the end we'll win the race.

Nice
I like him more and more.  Wishful thinking, I say bring him over and buy out Raef.  Reality thinking, I think that as much as I like Jack, I think he'd be the odd man out and get traded, no need for four point guards.
What is love? Baby don't hurt me. Don't hurt me. No more.

huh?
Buy out Raef?  He'll be a huge bargaining chip in a trade for us.

by Philthyanimal on Apr 10, 2008 4:30 PM PDT up reply actions

Right
We do not buy out LaRaef.

Jack is good. If we trade him, we could get something real. We are so loaded, though, what do we even need?

No need to trade him
I want his salary off the books for free agents next year.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
