Got thunderstix?

Does anyone have a pair of Blazer thunderstix (free throw noise makers) just sitting in your closet that you'd like to get rid of? While watching the game the other day, I thought that those would be a fun thing to add to my modest collection of Blazer gear. I live in Eugene and don't make it up to P-town very often. If anyone has a stack of these and would like to sell a pair of them to me, I'd pay postage+.

Has anyone every had to shoot free throws with anything like this in the background? Is it distracting?

Thanks Casey
I wanted to go off topic and didn't think it would be prudent until DJ got his stix.

I hate them things and can't wait for them to jump the shark.  I was at a U H game and they blocked my view, they were annoying when they opposing team wasn't shooting free throws, because they just got in the way.  I want to get back to the good ole' days where everyone yelled.  Or maybe they can do this: http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/03/09/speedo-guy-returns-to-duke-unc/

Yo
Add me to the list of folks who don't like them. I'm not sure how distracting they are to the opponants, but they work my nerves as an attendee. I put them in the category of "necessary evil."

Meh.
I forget who it was, but I remember reading an interview with an NBA player who said they aren't effective because they work as static. Everyone is going nuts in different directions. He said that if everyone moved one seat to the left at the same time, that would be more distracting because the basket would actually appear to move.

I think they are annoying when others use them
but when it's me making all that racket, they're great.

Well, doesn't that just roll off the tongue
Actually, I've never used them at a game, in Section 323 they've only handed them out once this year.

But I did grab some leftovers from freethrow land a few times, and they were fun.

Your Whacker Highness
Save 'em for the "Play Offs" next year. Then pull out all eight of 'em and let "The Thunder" roll on down, from the second level and onto the court, May the FT Shooter tremble and fall to his knees. Beggin' for mercy, which you shall not grant.

Thumbs Down. Rim Out! Blazer's Ball.

Personally
I have never understood why the sticks were not rim-orange.

Now THAT would be distracting.

Zebra has stripes
to hinder the targeting of the predator, because predator need to focus its attack in only one victim and when the Zebra´s path cross with an other´s when they are running away, the depreadotr loses its reference. We need a biologist.

Agreed
the stix are way too predictable.  In some other arenas I've seen towels or some kind of cloth that is nearly impossible for 300 people to get in rhythm.  Also I think something unexpected in their peripheral vision would work better.

They help make noise
and they're fun.  But no way do they impact free throw shooting by the opposition.  Well, maybe they help the opposition...

I don't mind them
I have a few pairs I can send your way if you still need some.
The worst thing was those hand clapper things. they were given out four or so years ago. these were the heavy duty ones, clear hands and I think KEX body, when there were 10000 or so of those during a game that was too much, I had a headache after the game, It was against the  L*kers T think.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
