Jarrett needs to go!

From the 'recap' :

--Jarrett Jack showed some of his fearlessness by driving into the teeth of the Warrior defense and converting the layups and fouls that have become his bread and butter this season.  His scoring game in Roy's absence was good...19 points on 7-13 shooting, 2-3 from distance, 3-3 from the stripe.  As long as he was playing off-guard and was on offense he had a great night.  When he switched to point, however, the Warriors had his number.  They pretty much ate up every scoring pass he tried to complete.  Maybe the best way to say it is that Jack can play some point as long as the other team doesn't see it coming.  But when they're focused on him he has trouble.  Like the rest of the guards he had trouble defending his Golden State counterparts, which doesn't really bother me.  However he did look to be giving up on a couple defensive, rebounding, and transition plays.  That did bother me a little.  19 points was not too shabby.  1 assist and 4 turnovers was yucky.

Isn't Jack a Point Guard? If he can't handle it when the opposition knows he's the PG then what use is he to us?
I remember when Jack was a rookie how Nate gushed about his defense. You guys remember? Well it turns out that Nate was high as a kite when he said that. Well I hope he was anyway. You know I can't stand it when he has these tpye of games, i.e the bad ones. I also have a hard time enjoying his good games which come around every 5-6 games because it somehow justifies Nate's preception of Jarrett's abilities. I can't accept him as
A starting PG
A backup PG
A starting SG
A backup SG
Some of you might say that Jarrett does play well on occasion as a SG. Not last night! Sure he shot the ball well but where was his defense? Ellis 18pts 6-10 fg. His passing? 1 assist and 4 turnovers. His Rebounds? REBOUNDS? ZERO,NADA ZILCH= 0. By the way Ellis and Davis got 15, let me say it again....................................................15 rebounds! Jack and Blake? How about 1. That's right 1!
That makes me angry and sad.
Maybe Nate needs to bring in a coach to teach them boys to rebound. This is truly sad!

Jarrett often rebounds
last night he didn't
Life goes on.
Maybe he's traded, maybe he's not.
He was not the deciding factor last night by any means.

Not only did he have
the 4 turnovers but he had 3 of his shot attempts blocked (akin to a turnover in my mind).

His thing is to drive into the teeth of the defense and force it .... either the shot or the pass, too often with ugly results. Yeah, this battle plan does result in some nice lay-ups but the good things most always seem to be canceled out by the number of times he ends up coughing up the ball w/o getting a shot up.

gone
I'd say it's 90% likely that Jarret won't be here next year. Rudy is our desired backup/crunch time SG, which leaves no room for Jack unless it's at PG. He's a downgrade from Blake at that spot, and I'm guessing we are still shopping for an upgrade to Blake, and we've still got Sergio at 3rd string as well.

Jack is all but gone IMHO

Couple things
  1. Jack scored 19 points on like 58% shooting.

  2. Monta Ellis ran by Webster 3 to 4 times last night, so Monta's stats are not because of Jacks fault. Nobody on our roster could guard him, and for some reason we never had interior defense.

  3. The Warriors had like 5 guards on the floor, and they were playing every passing lane imaginable.

All you have to do is watch Jarrett
I swear up and down that all one has to do is focus on watching Jarrett Jack play defense for the entire 8-10 minute run he gets at the end of the first quarter and into the second. You will see how insufficient he is on defense.  Focus on him and nobody else.  I don't think I have ever seen Jarrett force a player to go in the direction that the other player doesn't want to go.  I've never seen Jarrett take away an opposing player's strong hand either.

I like Jarrett in the sense that he seems nice and gets along with everyone. I am not a fan of his basketball play. People who are a fans of his basketball play are the same guys who marry a woman because she is sweet two days out of the week.  They fall in love with those two days, but forget about the other 5 days of misery and become blind to the fact that their wife is actually a pretty lousy spouse.

I'm hip, I'm slick, and all the women want my phone number!

I like Jack for Real-Real
I won't hate on him unless it is just for play-play.  I love the Blazers, I love everyone on the team, even Darius.  Darius is the son that keeps getting in trouble but he can stay at my place when he gets out of the joint for check fraud.  Raef is the older brother that never moved out and keeps mooching of the parents, but I love him too.  The Blazes are my ohana and I'm with them through good times, through bad times.  I'll be on their side forever more.

Trades

Then trade Felton
for Devin Harris and a couple 2nd round picks. Reason Felton is already as good as he his gonna get but Harris can improve and is already much better defensively!

I just hope that Rod Thorn still likes Jarrett.
Devin Harris would be perfection.
