Quick point guard poll

Which point guard would you like to have playing for the Blazers?

Note that the list doesn't include any recent, current, or likely future All-Stars.  (I know, many thought Calderon should have been an All-Star, but there aren't many top-flight PGs in the East, esp. after Chauncey).  No no Nash, CP3, Deron, Chauncey, Kidd, Tony Parker, or Baron Davis.

Nor does it include any college kids--no Derrick Rose, Jared Bayless, Darren Collison, or Russell Westbrook.  Or foreign prospects (Rubio, etc).

Nor does it include anyone like Starbury who has a well-developed rep as a pain in the butt.

It does, however, include several players who a) are arguably better than Blake/Jack/Sergio at this point; b) are currently in the league; and b) just MIGHT be available--and certainly could be had for the right price.

This discussion does assume that Roy continues in his current role with the team, and doesn't move to PG full-time; so all of these players can actually play the point.  Some of them are pure points; some are scoring points.

The candidates for the role of Future Starting PG of the Blazers are:

  • Jose Calderon, Toronto
  • Devin Harris, New Joisey
  • Rajon Rondo, Celtics
  • Mike Conley Jr., Memphis
  • Leandro Barbosa, Suns
  • Andre Miller, Sixers
  • MO Williams, Bucks
  • Raymend Felton, Bobcats
  • Rafer Alston, Rockets
  • Plus a "none of the above".  Note that "none of the above" does not mean "I'd rather have Chris Paul than these guys".  We all would, but CP3 is not available. :(
