DJ Augustin

Really nice story on DJ Augustin , the point guard from Texas. He can score, he can pass, and he seems to have the character the Blazers value. NBADraft.net has him going 17th , meaning he'd also be available when Portland picks. Also seems like he's got passion on the floor which can help make up for his being 5'11".

I was watching Texas play this weekend...

...and focusing on Augustin in particular. I felt like I was watching Damon Stoudamire back when he was Mighty Mouse. I'll pass.

i saw him

a lot last year (because i was watching kevin durant) and was unimpressed.

saw him twice this year -- he's just too short.

too small, I think

I've been focusing on him and the other top guards in the tourney and I his play really caught my eye. I think he could definitely be a better set-up / assist guy than Damon but I think he's just too small. Especially with four games a year against DWill the Blazers need a guard with a little more size. I like Collison too and he's a little taller but have the same concerns; I would take Collison over DJ.

I've been watching Collison a lot recently and really like him as an NBA PG. He runs UCLA's offense perfectly and finishes in the lane and hits the outside shot when he needs to be scoring. He's also the best on the ball PG defender in the NCAA IMO. I'm a little confused how Westbrook won Pac-10 defensive player of the year over Collison. Collison makes that UCLA team tick.
