Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Z-bo's current worth

Over at Truehoop it was stated

"Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "The disconnect between Bucks owner Herb Kohl and general manager Larry Harris came to the surface at the trade deadline last month, when Kohl effectively vetoed a deal that would have sent Bobby Simmons, Dan Gadzuric and Charlie Bell to the New York Knicks for Zach Randolph and guard Fred Jones."

Man that really makes you appreciate what Pritchard got for Z-bo ande F. Jones: Frye, J. Jones and Francis's salary.

And
The trade clause that nabbed Rudy.

FYI ...
The trade exception acquired Jones. We simply required Phoenix to sell us their pick for us to take Jones off their hands.

But the end result is the same: Trading Z-bo ultimately resulted in us acquiring Frye, Jones, AND Rudy ... Not too shabby!

as a defender of the trade..
I would like to point out it will bring cap room as well.

.....Why would they want Zbo?
They have Charlie V and Yi. They both play at the power forward spot don't they?

The Bucks have a lot of good offensive players. If they had a decent coach, and a team leader they would be a playoff team.

Bobby Simmons was a 6th made of the year.
Michael Redd is one of the best perimeter players in the game.
Charlie V is pretty good, he can rebound and has midrange game.
Andrew Bogut is pretty good center.
Yi is another perimeter shooting power forward.

That's more than enough to put you over the top in the East. They need to trade some of their offense and spare parts for toughness and some D. I would ditch Redd.

If they grab a player like Mayo who will take over the team they could make a huge improvement next year.

Kohl should see if he can convince Larry Brown or JV Gundy to coach his team. Maybe even George Karl if he's fired, I think he'd really think about coming back.

By over the top
I meant playoffs. If Washington can make the playoffs with Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler half of the time, the Bucks should too.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
