Point Guards

I've been watching the Blazer's a lot more this year than in previous years. I don't mind losing (especially tonight) as long as I feel like the players tried their best.

One thing I've noticed this year is Nate's tendency to be indecisive about who brings the ball up the court for the Blazer's point guards. One set Steve Blake will bring the ball up, then the next one will be Jarrett or Rodriguez. Worse for the equation is that Roy is more than capable of doing the ball movement business himself and does a capable job to boot. Roy doesn't fastbreak very well, but neither does Blake or Jarrett.

Since I can't figure out how to post tables here are some links for Steve Blake and Jarrett Jack.

The point is to show off Jack's turnover rate. It isn't very good, especially the last few games the Blazer's have played. Jack's had the chance to start, but he seems to have a hard time against good defense. If defenses collapse upon him or pressure him, then Jack does poorly.

First thing I should state is that Jack is a good shooter, or at least efficient for his shots. Jack is excellent at attacking the basket, and his free-throw shoot is the best on the team. I simply wish that Nate had Blake or Roy run the ball up the court 90% of the time. Jack is a great deal like Tony Parker, except not quite as talented.

More to the point, I don't understand why Nate runs with three point guards (four if you count Green) in the first place. This situation has to be frustrating for them.
