A bit more on the whole concept of "culture". What does it mean, exactly? Ignoring Darius, right now we have a team of mostly choir boys--and the good thing, is they can play ball.
But there are plenty of guys in the league who are excellent ballplayers, but a PITA in some form or another. The "one jackass theory" says a team can put up with one "jackass" and still be a cohesive unit, but not more than that. Sheed has done well in Detroit. Rod Strickland did well during his first Portland stint. Dennis Rodman was a key piece of title runs with both the Pistons and the Bulls.
So, the question is: What attributes of a basketball player is least unacceptable, from a "culture" point of view? To put it another way, what should the Blazers be willing to tolerate, and what should get a guy shipped out of town?
I'm leaving off "big" things such as killing someone or raping the nanny... and focusing on the more minor infractions that have plagued Blazer (and other teams) in the past.
