The ramifications of this week's games in the NW Division are wild. We play Denver for the series lead, and then Denver and Utah square off on Wednesday. We have a chance of going from 9th seed to 4th in the span of two games. Here's the breakdown:
Denver (28-18) schedule: 2/4 Portland, 2/6 Utah
Utah (30-18) Schedule: 2/4 New Orleans, 2/6 Denver
Portland (27-19) Schedule: 2/4 Denver, 2/6 Chicago
We need to win tonight, putting our record at 28-19. Denver will fall to 28-19 (tie, we win). Utah needs to lose to NO, putting their record at 30-19.
On 2/6, we need to beat Chicago, and Denver and Utah beat each other up. If Denver wins that game, Utah falls to 30-20, Denver to 29-19, and we end up with 29-19. Tie, we win.
This is going to be the most fun I've had following the regular season in years! Every game means something, and now all the other teams are going to start playing like it.
It's a great day to be a Blazer!
