I think we need to trade to get Randolph back
Big men that can create their own shot off the dribble are a valuable commodity in the NBA. The sweet crossover, the ability to go after loose balls, the basketball IQ to know and sense when the shot clock is under 9 seconds... it's all tough to find in one player.

Create his shot off the dribble?

Should have watched the video
That last post was the BE equivalent of Zach's possession. Ugh. I feel like Yao Ming's foot right about now.

Don“t worry...
But you shouldn´t be either too optimistic.
Because I do always the worst.

Zach Randolph is the worst thing that's happened..

CHEAP SHOT...
Frye is a horrid trade for Randolph. OBVIOUSLY he has no reason to be even touching the ball outside the arch, let alone shooting... But come on... KP traded a borderline all star for a guy who is now out of the rotation, more or less, with the LOWLY Blazers. Give me a break!!!

Hahaha!
- Let's say the Blazers stay in the tank, keep playin' real bad, and finish 8-18 to end up 37-45. Do you realize that the Knicks have to go 20-6 over the same span to even match the Blazers? That they could win TWENTY-FOUR of the last twenty-six and still only end up with a .500 record? And that's not even addressing the disparities in competition and the advantage the Knickers have playing in the Leastern Conference. I'd love to get you on record as to what you prognosticate that each team's final records will be. Your reasonable, intelligent basketball fan side prediction won't jive with what Bad Timbo is promulgating here. It'd be an amusing fight to see which side comes out on top to make the predictions.
- Z-Bo isn't a borderline All-Star. You know it, I know it, and everybody who knows anything about NBA basketball knows it. Claiming otherwise is folly.
- Why did you act like you know nothing about getting rid of burdensome contracts, improving team chemistry, and creating opportunities for other players by framing Frye-for-Randolph in terms of a pure talent swap? I suspect you DO know about these things, which leaves me confused as to why you ignore their obvious influence on that trade decision. Nobody's saying Frye for Randolph is a good trade talent-wise. Knickfan posted a good diary about this a while ago. It's called addition by subtraction, and it's had a positive effect on the Blazers this year.

I think Timbo was Timmay for a few games
But I digress. . .
Great response, BOB. Nobody thought for a minute that this trade was about talent (although I like Frye). And as you point out, Timbo is not stupid, and for him to ignore this fact is to be contrarian for no good reason. But that's his schtick, so why not.
Knick fans HATE Zach. I saw someone post that the only good thing to come out of that trade was never having to watch Channing fiddle with his mouth guard again. But I don't think Channing does that here, so we totally win!

Everyone forgets
Without the trade exemption created by the Zach for Frye trade, we would have never got James Jones. If we never took on Jones's contract, we would have never got the 24th pick(used on Rudy Fernandez).
Would you have taken Z-bo back at the expense of James Jones? We are 22-8 when Jones plays ya know. Can we please stop second guessing the trade!
Well if you still want Z-bo back, would you do it at the expense of cap-space in 09? We bought out Steve Francis specifically so his 17 million dollar salary will come off the books after next season. We dont do the Z-bo trade and we might not have gotten the freedom to put "icing on the cake" in 09.
So was Zach Randolph, Fred Jones, and Dan Dickau worth Channing Frye, James Jones, Rudy Fernandez, and 10-15 mil in cap space in 09? Even if Rudy never plays a game, the answer is yes, absolutely it was worth it...

But but but
Are there really that many half-cocked opinions around here that people actually thought I was serious when I mentioned that? :)

No, it's just that we skim.

That's the thing with these things
I read everything, but hardly ever comment in the stat diaries, because the only stat I care about is the W baby. As long as at the end of the game, the Blazers score is higher than the opponents score, I'm happy. Besides, I think it would be rude to start talking about gerunds in a math conversation.

What I don't get
That's what I, me, found funny. The diary was funny too.
That clip is a perfect example of why Z-Bo doesn't wear red and black anymore, no matta what his numbers are. He was shooting that no matter what and just wanted the shot clock to run down so he could shoot a 3 (his life's ambition is to get Sheed-like clearance on shooting threes).
