pros and cons
So, Roy ended up playing more minutes in the all star game than we all expected. Is this a good thing, or a bad?
Roy definitely needed some rest, and didn't necessarily get it. Now, the all star game isn't as taxing as a regular season game, but I'm guessing an entire weekend in New Orleans can be. Especially when he played in two games! This hurts a little, having our number one guy not get the rest everyone else did, when he probably needed it the most.
BUT!
What does the game he had...
MIN FGM-A 3PM-A FTM-A OREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS
28 8-10 2-3 0-0 1 9 5 1 1 0 2 18
...do for his confidence? Or even the teams confidence? Now, I know Brandon's confidence wasn't exactly lacking, but could a performance like he had elevate it even higher? Is the team sitting at home watching the game and saying, "wow, I knew Brandon was good, but he's one of the best on the court right now."
What do you guys think this performance does for B-roy and the team? positives and negatives

Are you kidding me?
Believe me - Its ALL good.
ITS GREAT
Respect
- Respect from refs. This is the kind of thing that will have benefits his entire career.
- Respect from other teams. This won't personally benefit Brandon so much. But this kind of performance has a subtle impact on how teams will plan for the Blazers. It is going to mean more open looks for other players.
- Next year's all-star game. If it comes down to a choice between Baron and Brandon next year, and their performances are roughly equal, who gets the nod now? Brandon. Which means more opportunity to build on #1 & 2.
Fatigue? These guys are incredibly fit. The fatigue factor is mostly mental, and this was just fun and games. The only real fatigue factor is the travel, and that was going to be there whether he played 8 minutes or 28.
Interesting choice to give Brandon the minutes. It made Paul look good, too -- Brandon was the best sidekick for him. Fun stuff.
he was awesome
The problem is that Brandon is one of those
I have to say I love every single one of the Blazers but I want to see Chris Paul in red and black. There seemed to be a real communication between Chris and Brandon on the floor.
Brandon really proved himself tonight and justified being picked over Baron. JMO.
Couldn't agree more

I thought about this....
Is it a good thing? 100% YES. Of course getting the exposure and the experience is fantastic. Brandon is no longer "All-Star Like" or "Playing at an All-Star Level" he IS an All-Star. For too many years now I've watched the rest of the league with their All-Stars get the calls and the breaks. Now Brandon is likely to get that All-Star player "respect" from the Refs.
I'm hoping Aldridge and Roy sleep in late the next couple of days. I'm also very happy after years of absence that The Blazers finally had an All-Star weekend presence and impact.
When your players get named to the All-Star team you just have to be happy, you can't worry about the fact that it's going to be an active weekend.
I was in the camp that said
I'm an idiot.
I believe the development points have all been covered so I'll simply state the one negative.
I am now drooling LIKE CRAZY for CP and Roy to play together. I would do anything short of the big three. They could have ALL the players except for the big three as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure KP and do some nice draft day magic to fill the gaps.
Lebron will look over here and go... "dang... the only way to a championship is through the blazers. If you can't beat them... join them."
Seriously... CP... we needs!
cp will cost
As much as I like Travis....if we could hang onto the big 3 and get CP3, then why would you not want to let Travis go.

I'll add my voice to the Pro-CP crowd.
This season is over...
So -- it's good for Brandon to prove to himself that he can play HIS game with the biggest big dogs. Nothing bad about it.

How great would it have been...
He knows this, too, I reckon, but he had only 0.2 seconds to make the decision, so we must forgive him for guessing wrong.
