Bibby to Hawks!

http://www.sacbee.com/749/story/717681.html

just reported,

King send: Mike Bibby to the Hawks

Kings Recieve: Tyronn Lue, Anthony Johnson, Shelden Williams, and Lorenzen Wright from the hawks.

I think this was a good trade for both sides. Mike bibby was unhappy and needed to be traded.

And get this...

ALL 3 of the contracts from the Hawks are expiring... THIS YEAR! THats a LOT of cap space for the Kings this summer.

Lue, Johnson and Wright expire this year, while Williams expires next year.

I personally don't think Mike Bibby was ever worth that much, he isn't a great shooter, teammate.

I think the Hawks got ANOTHER point guard... hmmmmm but then again Mike Bibby shoots it a lot

I've never really been a big fan of Mike Bibby and I think this trade will definitely favor the kings. They get Lue who is fairly solid plus other expiring contracts

He's likely referring to the effect
Bibby will have on Johnson, beingin the same backcourt.

Apparently Sacramento didn't hear
that the trend is to bring aging, semi-disgruntled stars INTO the Western Conference, not ship them out.

no guys...
Johnson having a legit PG to play with could really help his game.. he's been struggling.. hopefully this helps him.

Everybody in the West getting better...
.......... except the Blazers.

I would have thought
you wouldn't like this trade, since it's essentially a Z-bo trade: getting rid of one of your better players to improve team chemistry and salary flexibility. Or is it because the Kings just picked up your boy Shelden Williams?

Anyway, I can understand your frustration, seeing Minnesota, Seattle, and the LA Clippers making all those improvements.

You just successfully listed...
..... the 3 teams that will finish below the Blazers in the west this year.

Very well played!

well, you did say
every team in the West was making improvements. Like all the notable trades Golden State and Houston have made, for example. But I look forward to seeing Shelden Williams lead the Kings into the playoffs.

Kings got hosed
Sheldon freaking Williams is not going to help them and only lottery for the next three years for them to improve through the draft. Miller next or is it Artest?

What did you expect they could get?
The value on him was not high.  His numbers are horrible and he's only going to get older from here on out.  Shelden Williams could end up being a decent piece in a few years, plus they get expiring contracts.  Not a bad situation for Sacramento, IMO.

Lue tends to light up the Blazers
and when do we play Sac?  Oh, how about Tuesday.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
