Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Teams should let us win.

Other teams should learn that by beating us, they only make us stronger in the future. Each time we lose, we get another pingpong ball for a high draft pick, or trade using a high draft pick. A short term win this year could equal a Blazer team of Rose, Roy, Web/T.Law, LMA, and Oden next year. So, the other teams should think, "Do we beat them this year for a W in our win columb, or just make them stronger next year?" It's fun to think about how good we will be in the future, these guys are learning so much.

The Blazers can be thought of as "The Giant of Antaeus" from Greek Mythology. He got his power from the Earth. The more you knock him down, the stronger he gets, the harder it is to beat him. The only was Hercules was able to beat him is by lifting him up, and not knocking him down. So, I see this losing streak as, the more we get knocked down, the stronger we will become when we come back at you next year! (Yes I am a homer, and I enjoy drinking the large glasses of cool aid daily!)

I don't think we'll get Rose
But the Blazers lineup is outrageously talented.

We have 3 Potential Hall of Fame players (LMA, Roy, Oden), and 2 players which could turn into all star caliber players (Rudy, and Trout).

Along with Sergio and Martell, who could both end up being above average starters.

We are so loaded with talent the rest of the west and the league should be quivering in fear. Coupled with the desperation trades we've seen lately, the Blazers could end up dominating the league in a way never before seen. Seriously in 5 years who has the talent to stick with us? The Lakers, Mavs, Celtics, Pistons, Spurs will be in rebuilding mode.

Not quite
The Lakers won't be in rebuilding mode. Farmar, Gasol and Bynum are young. Plus Kobe will still be a good player in five years barring any injury. And let's not forget that Seattle, Orlando, Utah and even Chicago and Minnesota have a number of young players who could lead to dramatic improvements for those teams. And then there Lebron - once he joins the Brooklyn team in a couple years they're going to be scary no matter who he has as teammates.

I agree
While I think we'll be the best team in 5 years, it's impossible to know what other teams will do.  Maybe Lebron will end up on the Lakers and team up with Bynum.

I only take objection with one thing you say, and that is Kobe should be not nearly as much of a factor in 5 years when he is 35.  How dare you.

How can you sleep at night.

It would suck if Lebron became a Laker, but it's the sort of thing a Yankee loving front runner from Ohio like him would do.  Scoff.

It'll be purty hard for other teams to top a combo of LMA, Roy, and Oden in their primes.  I'll even go as far to say that I look forward to those Blazer teams.  It's those sort of earth shattering proclamations that keeps people reading my posts!

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
